I dont usually like looking back on things and asking what if...but, what if Dyer had never been kicked off the team...what would be the state of Auburn football today? My opinion...we would have won the three games we won this year, plus 4 more (Clemson, LSU, Arkansas, and Vanderbilt). Plus, Chizik would still be the coach....we would be going to a crap bowl and then Chizik would have been fired either next year or the year after.....what do you think?
If you cant be honest....whats the point of being anything?

I agree that Dyer isn't Bo or AP....but Dyer carried the 2011 Auburn team and I feel that he was a much better RB than Mason..no offense to Mason but he isn't as physical and strong as Dyer was in 2011...just go back and watch the South Carolina game and the Florida game in 2011...we won those games ugly with nothing but a ground game...I believe that having Dyer this past year would have helped Omac and our passing game...which in turn would have opened more holes for Dyer to run....Don't get me wrong, not having Dyer wasn't the only issue with this years team...and I'm VERY happy the Gus is out new coach and I'm looking forward to the next few years, but the Clemson and LSU games were very very close games that we had multiple opportunities to win..maybe with a big RB, we grind out enough yards for an extra FG against LSU...and I know he would have made a difference against Arky and Vandy...

Good stuff WDE
gotta confer w/ titan on this...Chiz was a meddling mug, but gotta think he forced Dyer to get those massive carries. Chiz would've continued to force that and we might have pulled out 6 wins this year. playing in a ridiculous bowl game in b'ham.
but once you start talking hypotheticals, getting 30-40 carries every week would've ended in 2 diff ways...he prob would've been hurt or gotten an attitude like Crowell, where he faked an injury to take himself out of the game.
now the real hypothetical is...WHAT IF Dyer wouldn't have had an attitude problem, been a privileged prima Donna, and crazy about spice. what if he would've been a humble, down to earth, hard working kid like Lattimore? what could've Dyer accomplished in 3 or 4 yrs?

Unfortunately, for whatever reason, he became a real cancer and if he were still here would be causing trouble. I hated it when he left too but with what has come to light I'm glad he's gone.
