Kid is still in the 290's. Hate to see that. Would really like to see him play at Auburn but I had heard he was asked to get his weight down in the 270's last year.
I was really excited about this kid playing for us... Looks like he may not have the discipline to get his weight under control...
Come on 37, put the biscuit down and hit the treadmill..
they need to make the call on him. He has nice feet for a big guy... but he's just not going to contribute at fb. He needs to have a chance at DT.
I don't see him ever getting on the field at DT with talent we have there and continue to recruit.
I Believe Auburn and Love IT...4 Life!
You should prepare yourself to live with the consequences of your decisions, whatever they may be.
I don't think anyone knows enough about LP to really comment. We all know he's big and very agile and plays FB. He is still young and has plenty of time to contribute. Many fans get all geeked up over players when they first arrive. LP with his backflips was no exception. What do guys want to do with LP? Sabonite him! I think we need to cut him some slack IMO.
a year behind Prouch should help
"you're so vain, I'll bet you think this post is about you, don't you? Don't you?"
Fourth and goal, I see LP blocking for Prosch or splitting them behind the QB, faking to one, giving to the other. If such an opportunity arises in a game we already have in the bag, then give it a shot. If it works, then it might come in handy in a more seriously contended game later on. Phillips could be our Refrigerator.
Or better yet, he needs to play with his hand in the dirt on defense like he should've been for the past two years...
I think if he were DT material, he would have been there already. I think we all hoped he would be better than he has been up to this point. You can be athletic and not be a good football player, it's just hard to be a good football player and not be athletic.
I've said on several occasions already that I know the kid personally. The injury really got to him early on and I personally think that has really hampered him. He's got until the fall to shed 30 pounds, if he doesn't he will not see the field often. I'm sick of people talking about this kid when they don't know anything about him. He has made some really bad choices but he is not some kind of criminal like some of you like to think. He also has responsibilities that kids his age aren't always ready to handle so it make take him until next year to finally turn it around for himself. I believe in DeDe and I think he will eventually do good things for the football team. I really really want this kid to make it he is not a jerk like some seem to believe.
He is lazy. I had a class with him last year and he was late for class and just sat in the back. He acted like he didn't care about his grades. I sat next to Moseley and he carried himself a lot better than LP. Clint is a really good guy. But the few conversations I have had with him it seems that AU girl7 is accurate. He just doesn't seem to care.
Starting DT material? Absolutely not, but if he can give us 5-6 good snaps per game at DT that is worth far more than anything he can contribute as a back-up fullback, IMO.
