Anyone know what typr injury Lutz had to his shoulder?
Rotator cuff? Labral tear?
I'm going for an opinion for a possible labral tear. Anyone ever had one?
If yes, how long is the recovery.
TIA - Duck
Yes, his was a torn labrum
Surgery and recovery aren't too bad at all. PT for 6ish weeks then home care afterwards until strength returns to normal. You'll be fine
I had a torn labrum In high school and had it operated on just before I graduated and I was in rehab 3 times a week for 3 months. Mine was torn completely so it was a little more invasive than others, but it took me about 11-12 months before I was able to start working out again, and I still don't fully trust it. And it's been since 08 when I had surgery.
I had surgery a couple years for torn labrum. It will probably vary but like others have said: sling for like 6 weeks. PT 2-3 times a week for 4-6 months. After 6-9 months for 100% full recovery. Mine is probably not 100% but my shoulders were really messed up, and I probably didn't get the same kind of care Lutz is getting too. I would say I'm 90% but I have never dislocated my shoulder since the surgery which is pretty significant because I used to dislocated both shoulders all the time.
Thanks for all the input. Seems Lutz hurt it on that one-handed catch, wheere he reached for the pilon.
I'll know Thursday. I've been hurting for 4 years and it's been miserable.
