We hire him, help develop his resume and then as soon as thUGA or UAT comes open he is groomed and ready to go. Great idea Dye.
Hasn't happened to Auburn once in my 62 year lifetime. Not to worried about it happening now actually.
"Auburn. I think of purity for some reason." - Lewis Grizzard
Any program worth a damn is going to interview the best coordinator in the business. All this tells me is someone knows what in the hell they are doing. Dye can be for whomever he wants, but Mac Crawford especially could care less who Pat Dye wants. When is the last time a coach ever left Auburn voluntarily? Say Smart is hired; I can promise his contract will be structured in a way that will make it nearly impossible to bolt to UGA and bama.
WE COMING . WAR EAGLE !
If we are not going to hire an offensive minded coach, then I would rather have Smart than Pelini. And anyone that thinks he is not running that defense is not watching what the coaches do during a game.
Never happened never will. And Dye is not as involved as the fools on the boards like to think. Yes he has candidates he prefers, but to think he is running this thing or telling JJ what do is just plain stupid,
I agree with you as far as coaching. My picks are this:
3. Strong or Smart.
Patterson scares me. Jimbo= way overrated.
