How dare ABC 33-40 sportscaster Jeff Speegle say last night's shooting incident in Auburn might have a negative effect on the parents of future Auburn recruits. Had he waited until the end of the press conference he would have learned that the current and former Auburn athletes in the situation were "VICTIMS." Who could anticipate that some lunatic would exit a party and come back later and start indiscriminately shooting at people? That can happen anywhere in America, at any restaurant, party, or any other type of public gathering. I guess players should reconsider attending Virginia Tech after a jealous man began shooting at students, Or maybe even Texas, since a deranged man climbed the Texas tower several decades ago and started indiscriminately shooting.
I don't care if the Auburn players were involved in a fight, which we don't even know at this point. They obviously didn't start it and didn't introduce weapons into it. The alleged perpetrator was from out of town, so this has nothing to do with safety within the Auburn community. Jeff Speegle should know better and any coach that would try to use this incident for recruiting purposes will be exposed as a fool and jerk.
might as well post the address also

I saw that and had to refrain from saying what I wanted to say in front of my niece. I couldn't believe he would take a story about several young people (half of whom weren't even related to Auburn football) being shot by a deranged gunman and use it to talk about how it will negatively effect recruiting. I guess I'll go ahead and start my email to this jack@$$ now.
You people really aren't getting the point here. Obviously this isn't good for recruiting, but the fact of the matter is that three people were killed last night and one other might not make it. This isn't the time to use this story to go on air about how it will negatively effect our recruiting. It was poor timing and in poor taste. No one is saying he is wrong necessarily, it was just a highly inappropriate statement for the day after the shooting.

Exactly PM...recruiting should be the last thing on people's mind at the moment.
I'd like his Boss's email address. I believe he/she is the person who should hear out feedback and handle the situation. Speegle's obviously a schmuck.

The General Manager's email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
On the 10 o'clock news/sports, he made a very lame response, not even addressing what he said earlier, and actually was a little aggressive. He needs to be relieved of his duties at 3340, and my response to the GM there will be such. Sad, sad journalism?
