***Jacobs said he recommended to President Jay Gogue that Gene Chizik not be retained as head coach this morning. ***Jacobs said the decision to fire Coach Chizik came down to winning and losing.

***Jacobs said it will be the new head coaches' decision on who he hires as assistants.
Thanks Bryan. I like the bullet format.
This is for the Auburn Family and everyone who played here before we did. I love ya'll, War Eagle!' Nosa Equae 10/19/13 Kyle Field Texas A&M
really feel sorry for the families? I do for the lesser paid assistants... but Gene's will feel sorry all the way to the bank! I wish I had his problems!
Btw, Great info Bryan, loved the conciseness..

Really everyone calling Jacobs an idiot must feel a little silly hearing him articulate many of the reasons for firing Chizik that they claimed were problems he failed to grasp. Also, he said the Arkansas game was really the catalyst for the process resulting in Chizik's firing, which was another thing many people claimed Jacobs could not appreciate. Also Tim Jackson is gone from the football program.
Jacobs is handling his business and really he's doing it the right way.
I'm confident our next coach will be a clear touchdown hire.
This is a huge personal failure at a place that was Chizik's dream job. I'm not sure why Auburn fans immediately ignore that and default to money. This is the kind of thing that takes many years to get over, if getting over it is even possible. Truthfully, I wouldn't trade places with Chizik.
kick 'em in the ass, big blue.

PERHAPS A GREAT PRACTICE COACH
ok bammer go back to your board you better be worried about Georgia instead of worring about whats going on at AUBURN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WAR "DAMN" EAGLE
I'm sure every unemployed person holding the winning lottery ticket feels just like you!
Jay, himself is responsible for the hiring of CGC, the by out contract is was a safety net of Jays design. I hold Jay solely responsible for this debacle. Him coming out and making like he is the savior of the Auburn Football program make me want to puke. Everyone go ahead and pat the chicken sh** on the back and tell him what a great job he is doing. All of you in favor of CGM better remember alot of the off field trouble that has come home to roost this past year is partly his fault for recruiting players with questionable character.
i think you might be wrong about this and it depends on the coach. there's no doubt in my mind that petrino or gus would win right away. the others, i'm not so sure about.
