SI is one of the few sports news outlets that actually has to have other folks to corroborate the allegations made by anonymous or named sources to run a story...that is why they didn't pile on the Cam story-they couldn't find anyone to back up the allegations of the "whistle blowers". They obviously did their homework on this and I like the way they divulge the sketchy background of one of their sources...that is professional journalism. The folks that spewed the Scott Moore story like gospel generally left out the part of him being a convicted wife-beater and deadbeat dad. Jim Tressel may be a good guy, but it appears the secret to his coaching success may have been to adhere to the "see no evil, speak no evil and hear no evil" principle.
This is too funny!
A few months back a writer from "The Cleveland Fan" sports blog in Ohio wrote a story about Auburn. You know how the Big 10 just loves the SEC. His information for the article came from Tigerdroppings.com. They had written a long article that talked about Lowder, Victoryland and McGregor, The Tuberville stuff, Auburn's past transgressions witht he NCAA, and a few other things that basically said that Auburn had paid Cam. Well Dan Wismar(The writer) ran with it. I found it online and wrote to Dan telling our side of the story. Dan and I wrote back and forth for a few emails with him arguing that It only happens in the SEC and that Cam was obviously guilty. All I asked was that he look at the proof as it was presented and not draw conclusions that weren't there. Basically we left it at an "Agree to disagree" Situation. Needless to say I've had some fun with this stuff and Dan now. Whats beautiful is that I just read a post by Dan saying that he is going to wait for more PROOF before jumping at the conclusion that Pryor has been doing anything wrong concerning driving lots of different cars.....Classic!
You guys should head on over to the Cleveland fan and just watch it unfold. I told them when this stuff first started to come out to enjoy the spotlight and thanks for finally taking it off Auburn. That was a turd in the punch bowl...LMAO!
