Good. Don't need fans like you. Especially when you try to come back after Auburn starts winning and Petrino proves he is a changed man. Good Riddance.
I was going to put a witty joke here, but I forgot bama fans still use picture books. So I thought I'd expedite the process for you...
Standing on principle is one thing. But did the Head football coach sign off on his degree? Cause I know that none signed off on mine. Did the HFC get a chance to screen all fans and THEN say which ones are good enough and which arent?
The only reason some folks are so high and mighty is because they have been privy to all of the info about BP. Reason? Because they ARIED ALL OF IT ON NATIONAL TV. How many true AU fans have made the same mistakes? Are they allowed to recite the creed?
We hold HFC to a diff level than ourselves and use the money they get paid as a reason to do so. But if a man makes 50K a year and does the same thing he isnt in the same spot? Can he be a fan? Cause if he can.....then he could be our coach!
And keep in mind. As we act all "Better than that". We do realize that we are the most penalized by the NCAA programs int he nation right? We have cheated. And got caught. We have prolly cheated and not gotten caught. So was the creed just not important then because the actions resulted in wins? Were the people that did said things all of a sudden banished from the AU prgram and told to never speak of us again? NO.
But now we are a pristine program with no black eyes and no moral or legal issues?? Wake up folks.
If you cant be honest....whats the point of being anything?
Better also watch what you call "facts" I assure you few know the real "facts" and those few include neither you nor I. What you know is what the press has reported, which, as AU fans know first hand is often biased and inaccurate. If it were always accurate then this coaching search would be fairly meaningless because by many accounts int he media we are headed for probation and maybe the "death penalty" Amazing how some people on here will take every hit piece written on Petrino by the Bama/ loving and controlled press as the gospel truth while claiming nothing written about AU has any truth to it. I promise you BP has his own story to tell and he is about as unpopular a figure with main stream media as is AU.
You might want to put down your stone.
I'm anti-Petrino and I feel your pain, BUT AUBURN is bigger than any Alum, Athelete, Coach, Man, Woman, Fan, or any one idea. There are people who are "fans" that have lately attacked the Auburn Creed. Those fans are fans in the "extended" family only and are not AU Alums. I am in no way putting them down nor am I trying to lessen their worth in the Auburn Family, just that for Alums, the Auburn Creed has a deep meaning that applies directly to our lives. I was totally against T Bowden when he was hired and I will NEVER, EVER forget his putrid and self centered exodus as our HC in the 5 game of that season. He was NEVER an Auburn man. CGC handled his firing with class. Though many of you out there dislike him or hold him with disdain, he will always be an Auburn man. As for Petrino, who knows? He hasn't even been hired yet and may not be. Do I want him to be HC? No I do not. Will I support Auburn with my heart, mind, and money if he is hired? Yes I will. Because Auburn is apart of me and ALWAYS will be! No matter who the HC isI Auburn is more than one man. I do believe in the Auburn Creed and I live by it. If Mr. Petrino is hired, I hope that he will read Our Creed, publicly embrace it, and more importantly, take it to heart and live by it. For those of you out there that can't live with his hire, if he is hired, then Auburn doesn't need you. We are a FAMILY. Families don't always agree, but we have to agree that we can disagree with each other and live with and support each other. If someone can't do that, then just disown the Family and go your own way. We can and will live without you. Sorry but that is life.
Auburn Family Now, Always, and Forever ! WDE
Dont let the screen door hit you on the a__ on the way out 280.
Not casting stones at your argument. But. You say that ones that do not have a degree are extended members of the family...Then you call CGC a non grad as a true AU man. Jus sayin.
I think we all take the creed very seriously. But basing someones worth on wether they have lived the creed before they get here is a bit short sighted.
People make mistakes. And becasue they made that mistake does not mean that they dont want to be good people they just made the wrong decision. And I am not talking about BP. I am talking about PEOPLE!!
Live your life and do things the way you see fit. Its why we are here. If we were ment to be perfect then we would not be here. We are ment to learn and adapt to our surroundings. And sometimes taking risks and or doing certain things makes you look like a bad person. When in all actuality you were doing what was best for you and your family.
I think in all cases we need to be open minded to one very important truth and it is: There are 3 sides to every story. What you say what the otehr side says and somewhere int eh middle is the actual truth.
Stop hitting me with stones....I didnt throw any at you!
Fearless and true.
I did not call him any names. I applaud his conviction. But to throw in the towel on your team and school because you disagree on who they hire is assinine. Just my opinion.
Also, I like adult discussions about Auburn situations. I agree name-calling is not necessary, unless it is a bamer that chimes in. In fact, I was against hiring Petrino until I looked at the AU FB situation and realized we need a true disciplinarian, a coach that stays out of the NCAA doghouse, and one who is not scared to go toe-to-toe with saban and the SECW.
I also realized I cannot throw stones at CBP because I am just like him......imperfect and a sinner. It is up to the committee to interview CBP and see where his heart and attitude is. IOW, is he truly contrite and humble in his past. I am told he is and is willing to prove it by building trust the hard way..earning it.
I have been there and done that. i applaud CBP for fighting for his family and his pride. He knows this is his last chance to prove himself worthy of a HC position. This is the perfect time to hire him. AU has nothing to lose. We are already at tock bottom in our FB program.
Can anyone tell me how many times Petrino has beaten Saban, how many SEC titles how many NCs
