Don't tell me he's a good hire. Our defense will continue to suck. The offense is not going to run scores up in the SEC. He won't recruit very good. The assistants will be crap. Welcome to competing with the Rebs, Razorbacks, mrs state , etc for middle of the SEC. Way to swing for the fences!!!! Idiots!!
Per Bryan Mathews:
Hmm. It would be a mistake to hire a coach that developed the no huddle, hurry up and believes in a power running game and would have one of the nation's best offenses year in and year out? It would be a mistake to hire a coach that was one of the main reasons Auburn won its first national championship in 50 years? It would be a mistake to hire a coach that has been a part of Auburn at its best and knows exactly why and how this program went on a slide? It would be a mistake to hire a coach that already has a relationship with most of the players on the current team and also many of the recruits?
I can think of many reasons Malzahn would be a great hire for Auburn.
Ooh, Peppa Jack Loves Fraggle Rock
With my past and future precisely divided am I at that moment....I haven't decided.
You grad, bro?
This post is pitiful. Please go lay down and suck your thumb.
I did a study of the top Pro set teams in SEC (GA, LSU and Bama) and they give up on average 18.4/game (2007 -2011) vs top spread team giving up 21.2/Game. Here's where it get interesting, these team score 31.9/Game vs Spread 40.1/game. Wins are Pro 9.8/game vs Spread 10.8/game. BCS Game appearances were Pro 4, Spread 3. The key is you can win with either. Your defense doesn't have to be great but able to make key stops. Even if your defense is great you're not going to change avg point differential substantially. Avg points differential was Pro 12.1 vs Spread 18.7.
Gus can win big at Auburn with a good DC hire. Maybe Ellis Johnson or someone of that caliber.
So quick question Mattdaddy.....how many college games have you coached in and how many HS kids have you recruited? My guess none but you're an expert on this subject....You forget to take your meds?
..........BEAT BAMA .................BEAT BAMA..................BEAT BAMA
Newton's Law: A Newton in motion will remain in motion, unless acted upon by an endzone.
I could care less what out defensive stats are as long as we have more points than the other team in every game. See 2010. Did you refuse to buy Championship stuff because our pass defense sucked????
