Jay Prosch should be added as a 5-star to Auburn's signee list - seeing as how he was a signee. Take that into account and Auburn already has a top 10 class. Add Diggs and it's a top 5 class.

There is no star rating system for D1 transfers.

There's a difference between a JUCO transfer and a kid transfering from a D1 program. There isn't a single site that ranks D1 tranfers. Also, I know we are all excited about this guy coming in and he will help the team, but how are you ready to give a 5* ranking to a kid because he is a great blocker lol. Downvote me all you want, I don't care, but he played for Illinois and I am anxious to see how he will transition to the SEC. From the looks of his film he should be able to open up some holes nicely, but that hardly merits a 5* ranking. Me thinks that to be a bit biased. Think of it this way, who here honestly heard of this kid before a few weeks ago, really?

As much as it may pain me, I will have to agree with the Cajun. I would give him 5 star status because he has been successful for 2 years in a D1 program. He is a team leader, strong as hell, and a good student. Seems to be a lot more than just a blocker. I will take this kind of kid and call him a 5 star every day and twice on Sunday. To me the big thing is he is proven at the D1 level. I know it is Illinois but it is still big boy football. Patterson is coming from a Jr. college. Just sayin.
Let there be no doubt, I am indeed a proud Pop!! War Eagle!!

Your boy the Cajun.
P.S. Thanks for the backup - knew I liked something about ya
When a player counts against your 25 limit, they should be ranked and added to your class. I think this is a new rule and sites like 247 need to adjust. In case you didn't know, he was ranked one of the top 10 special teams players in the country. You think special teams impact a game at the SEC level? He's proven to be a guy that the pros covet - guys like him play in the league a long time. In case you were wondering about my bias, I didn't get a single vote on his AA status or his ESPN top 10 special teams player status. They might be biased but I don't think it was by an Auburn grad like me.
He really shouldn't be counted as a recruit. He transferred because of his mom's illness. I believe that has more to do with his transfer to Auburn than Auburn recruiting him. The rational behind giving players star rankings is to see how a team's recruiting class ranks compared to another team. Even though I am super-excited to have Jay, it really does not matter what star ranking he has - it is beside the point IMHO. If you rank him, you might as well start ranking every kid enrolled and playing in the NCAA.
