I Believe Auburn and Love IT...4 Life!
You should prepare yourself to live with the consequences of your decisions, whatever they may be.
Agree 100 percent. Simply pathetic and hopefully unacceptable. JJ may be one of the worst evaluators of talent/personnel of any personnel I have seen. He and the culture at Auburn that supports the well-intentioned but inadequate AD in place is making us a bottom tier SEC program. Other folks saying his contract is up in June - anyone know if this is correct?

What the hell has happened over here? Since recruiting season has been over, I haven't visited here much. In this thread I keep seeing people post "athletics aren't everything", "losing is a good thing for us so we can learn humility". Are you effing kidding me? Is this a joke that I'm missing out on? Tell me that's sarcasm. This type of complacent attitude honestly pisses me off and its the very reason we are in the position we are in. Our athletics are a joke. LIterally. Nobody respects Auburn athletics. They use us as a punch line. The other day on national TV a commentator poking fun at Charles Barkely stated that Auburn High School in Indiana or somewhere was closer to making the NCAA tournament than Auburn will be for a long time.
You people are confusing "humility" with "humiliation" IMO. Wake the F up.
The athletics aren't everything about Auburn. They are a big part of it but some people seem to take it to the extremes of the turds. We must remember that Auburn has been and always will be much larger than its football, basketball, and baseball teams will ever be. We are Auburn first, athletics second. We are not the Bammers that put athletics before university.
Winning is great, but you have to go through the lows to get to the highs. We are in a major rut right now but so what? Get over it and get ready for a return to being awesome and winning. Its in our nature to come back much stronger than we were before we went down.
And I am in no way complacent. I hate losing as much as anyone else. There is no doubt that we are at an all-time low but there is nothing that can be done but to wait. So why get hot and bothered over it?
Not really so much.
They're also 2-6 in the SEC. One of my best friends is on the softball but their coach leaves much to be desired.
I don't even understand what the point of your post is. Because academics come first, we shouldn't be upset with what's going on with our athletics? It doesn't matter? Jay Jacobs is the ATHLETICS director. We are discussing ATHLETICS on a website that is about ATHLETICS. If this thread was on a website promoting Auburn academics and Jay Jacobs was the Dean of Engineering then maybe I would understand where you are coming from. But Jay Jacobs role is to oversee our athletic program and he is doing an extremely poor job in that role. So he deserves to go and people here should be upset about it.
This is where you are dead wrong, and why I correctly call your attitude "complacent".
ummmm.... as a matter of fact there IS something that can be done about it. Your suggestion to just "wait" is well thought out and a progressive way of thinking and all. Kudos for coming up with such a plan for success. But for me personally, when things are going this poorly, I would suggest that we think about making some changes.
