I guess 9. The players are there, just have to be motivated and coached.
5 at the most.
I will go 9
It's Auburn Football! WAR DAMN EAGLE! ALL WE DO IS WIN! WIN! WIN! NO MATTER WHAT!
"Townes used to say that there's only two kinds of music: the blues and zippity-doo-dah, and this ain't zippity-doo-dah." -Steve Earle
So, Auburn's offense in 2010 is irrelevant? 2009 featured the belittled Chris Todd as his qb yet Auburn started producing record numbers on offense. So, his time at Arkansas shouldn't count? The offense he coached there doesn't matter? Is winning 9 games in his first year as a head coach not a good record? Is winning his conference championship in his first year not a good performance? So, unless you skew things really heavily, it is only logical to think Gus would at least have a chance at winning ball games at Auburn. You seem to think he's a bumbling idiot who can't coach at all. By the way you say it, Gus is a complete dummy who should put down the clip board and go home.
Washington State Cougars - W
Arkansas State Red Wolves-W
Mississippi State Bulldogs - Toss Up
at LSU Tigers - L (Blown out)
Ole Miss Rebels -Toss Up
Western Carolina Catamounts- W
at Texas A&M Aggies- L (Blown Out)
Florida Atlantic Owls - W
at Arkansas Razorbacks- W Arky loses a lot this year, but this might be a tossup with the right hire.
at Tennessee Volunteers - W same as Arky
Georgia Bulldogs - L ( a respectable loss as uga will be in rebuild mode)
Turds- L (Blown Out)
6 games that should be wins
Toss ups against the Mississippi schools.
3 blowout losses.
9 games with a bowl win is possible, but my list looks a little optomistic
Based on talent alone, we should have done that this year. Coaching will make the difference no doubt. 8-4 for the season....who knows what happens after that.....
7 regular season wins plus a Music City Bowl win. It will take a few years to get back up to the 9 -10 game win level.
I'll say 9. Both sides of the ball will be much improved. I think people are overlooking how much turn around Gus will be able to achieve. He can do two things. First his offense will give us a chance in every game. Second AU has talent that was wasted because of all the issues highlighted by Heath Evans and others. Solve the teamwork issues and everything changes. Chiznik did that in 2009 and got 8 wins that could have been 10 if Todd's shoulder had held up. Yeah I'm on the Gus bus.
5 maybe 6
Hating uga since 1892.
10. It's what are we gonna look like at year 4 with Gus who has never been anywhere as a coach or assistant in year 4. My concern with Gus is not scheming and calling plays but rather developing players and culture of toughness that you need. Mark Richt is not a tough coach - and his players play as such. Would you ever hear Dye or Petrino crying about rough play by Fairley? Of course not. Neither would saybin. That's what you are gonna get with Gus but Gus will never have the talent level of Richt.
This thread is gonna be fun to bring back in about a year from now.
o/u at 8.5 wins?....lol
"you're so vain, I'll bet you think this post is about you, don't you? Don't you?"
