How does FSU do it year in and out. They have not won squat in years!! Is it facilities, recruiting ability of it's coaches?? Someone help me out here!!
Did you forget that Jimbo took le$$on$ from Lil Nicky????????????????/
I can't help but think that all the publicity that Stoops got out of possibly coming to AU didn't hurt any either. His name was floated around so much like he was the 2nd coming that it probably struck a note with some of the recruits. Quite frankly, i never got the hype. It's not like F$U has been a defensive juggernaut over the past several years. It'll be interesting to see what the defensive statistics are for each team at the end of next year.
“they ain't got nothing but people...Alabama mystique...Georgia mystique...they’ve done it with people. Hell, we’ve got people, too.”Pat Dye
I live in Florida and have Daughter at FSU.
Florida ia one of the 3 best recruitting areas in the country. Many of the Fla. players grew up wanting to play at FSU and now that Bowden is gone they want to rebuild the program back to it's glory, which wasn't that long ago. It's an easy sell- great program that you can help rebuild, win a NC and stay close to home so momma can see you play.
Alabama fans love Alabama football
Auburn fans love Auburn University
Are people being serious asking this question??? I have been reading people asking this for weeks. It's not like they are Florida Atlantic. Have you ever been to their campus? Tallahassee is a great town that is a lot bigger than Auburn and has a lot more to offer. I fell in love with Auburn but to each his own. Many kids like the bigger cities. As mentioned above Florida A&M is another factor. But lets get serious for a second. This is a tremendous school, campus, facilities, stadium, etc... They have alway had a "swag" factor just like Miami that appeals to the black community. They have put a ton of guys in the NFL and they have a lot of winning traditions. Think about what is appealing to an 18 year olds and couple that with the fact that they have a very young and energetic coaching staff and I am just dumbfounded that everyone is wondering how fsu gets recruits??? They have only had top 5 recruiting classes for probably 20 of the last 25 years.
Ladies and FREE SHOES!!!! Kids love shoes and hot girls and FSU has a stockpile of both.
If you cant be honest....whats the point of being anything?
You recruite to your needs. If we are after olinemen they are far and few with the big stars, if you need "skills" they carry different weight. The star system is pure BS.
WE COMING . WAR EAGLE !
As an old timer I'll take issue with equating fsu's tradition and "swag" factor with AU's and the statement that "fsu has always had it". No doubt that Bobby Bowden did, in my opinion, the best job of building, coaching and upgrading a college football program that I've ever seen or heard about and there was a 15 year period back in the late '80s and '90s where they never finished out of the top 5 in the final rankings. But I also remember when they were frequent a homecoming opponent for decent programs. Before the early 1980s I think they may have had only 1 or 2 teams in previous years that finished in the rankings. Auburn's football reputation goes all the way back to the 19th century. I'm not saying we are the best ever but with our history we take a back seat to very few programs. I think we are around 13th in all time victories nationally so that's basically in the top 10% of all major college programs. I think ga, lsu and fl are all at around the same # of victories al is about 6th or 7th, just for some points of reference.
I also realize that most kids being recruited today know very little about any program beyond the last 4 or 5 years but that should be part of any presentation by a recruiter to a prospective hs senior and AU has performed better than fsu has in the last 4 or 5 years anyway.
"Brick by brick, my citizens. Brick by brick"
Auburn is the #1 Campus in America!..
Tallahassee? What a joke!..
Those 5 Stars will be sorry..
