To the sunshine pumpers and to the whinners-honesty and a dose of reality is the best policy. After several very succesful years by this staff, the countless hours of work, calls, contacts, etc. this has to be disappointing. Auburn has taken a chance unlike ever before, we have expanded our recruiting nationally. The cost has been enormous in dollars and I hope we haven't alienated the recruits regionaly that know what Auburn stands for. This staff works harder than any staff in the NCAA-it may not bear fruit this year but will down the road. War Damn EAGLE
you better duck
Sorry, but this makes no sense. Care to elaborate?
WE COMING . WAR EAGLE !
Yes, for fear of being seen as a naysayer, I wasn't clear-here it is. We targeted numerous 4 & 5 star recruits from all over the country (Yeldon, Armstead, Goldman, Diggs, Patterson, Ward, L Wiliams,) and don't have 1 onboard. That coupled with the cost to fly all over the country, the time and resources ($$) spent was my point. The best HS football players reside in FL, GA, Al, TX hope we go back to a more regional approach in recruiting.

I would prefer we go after the kids that the coaches see as best for the program.
Strive for perfection in everything we do. Take the best that exists and make it better. When it does not exist, create it.
One thing to look at as well is that the $ spent this year is laying in roads and groundwork for the future. So, maybe we don't get some of those recruits this year, however we have put down a foundation in those regions and are poised to do well with future recruits in those regions. Think of all the mention that Auburn has gotten over the last month in CA and the West Coast. Not all of the recruiting dollars are just a one year investment. JMO
