I think this is why we changed offenses. Chizik felt slighted about Gus getting all the credit for winning. His pride got hurt. You don't change schemes after back to back highly rated recuiting years fot a HUNH offense. You recuited players for a system and then decide our D isn't good enough, we need to slow down. Stupid. If your D is bad, you better be able to light up the scoreboard. He knew what he was doing. He can't be that dumb. Now we have all the players in the system for Gus's offense and we want to be Pro style. Talk about a perfect storm for failure. This season was doomed from the onset. I over predicted us before the season like most and I thought 6-6 was most likely to be lucky. If we want a quick fix, better get someone that can use the HUNH or we will see a few more of these years. WDE!!
Alabama delenda est.
Phillip just laid out the key to this years issues as well. The head coach is making the calls and not letting his coaches coach. The power has gone to his head (refer back to his his book) I wonder if Coach Rocker took the Titians job for the same reasons Gus wanted out?
IMO: Hopefully he will be in the mix. We might not win many games; however, his offense would be more exciting. I rather lose 56 to 49 than 56 to 14. He wasn't given a chance to run his offense last year.
I wonder if he would even be interested in the job?
Keep his crazy wife away from Auburn.
Look at A&M and Ole Piss success this season. Your argument is flawed. Frazier would be a stud in the spread. Dyer was not given a pass by CGM and Pike was never given a chance despite probably being the best fit for a Pro-Style offense.
Also NNs, before CGC put on the brakes Auburn scored 36 points per game. Put his three offenses behind a CTT defense and we would never lose.
We are in our present predicament because CGC neglected our once great defense and later went insane when he felt the need to slow scoring to help the defense. I just wonder if anyone here knows one damn thing how CGC screwed this football team. Stop making excuses for him.
Regardless of whom our next HC will be it will require that Auburn scores freaking points to win. IMO CGM will go a long way in solving that portion of the equation.
