Not my 1st choice , but just glad Chizik era is over.
If the Gus Bus Guys would come on over to Jimbo's side, we could get this thing done !
Don't ya think ?
Please go back and watch what happens when the Gus Offense - or the Oregon Offense runs into a defense with SIZE and speed. It goes backwards... Unless you have a freak of an athlete at QB is doesn't work in the SEC.
You can add me to the definitely not on the Gus Bus crowd, actually hope he stays as far away from Auburn as possible.
Looking forward to the change, but would kiss Bobby P.'s feet over wanting Gus, and I'm am in no way a Bobby P. fan.
Please o' please give us a coach that doesn't rely on a gimmicky offense to win.
I agree , just think its going be Gus. Would rather have BP , Jimbo , Peterson , Golden.
Would have to be told no by a few to make it down to Gus.
It works more than it doesn't. It's an equalizer of talent. Face it, as long as Saban is cheating at 100 miles per hour, and we try to cheat at 75 and get investigated at every turn, we aren't going to land the athletes year in and year out that Alabama will.
Gus was the 2nd in charge at AU for 3 out of last 4 years. He did nothing for discipline ect. He is not ready yet and will make a lot of mistakes.
If that's the case, expect to be a .500 type team.
Trouper is second in.charge.
I feel like Gus could be ur version of Dooley at UT.
Just a thought

If you cant be honest....whats the point of being anything?
Scot by blood, Southerner by Birth, Auburn Tiger by choice - War Eagle!
For Toomers Sake please dont hire this goof ball and his goofy wife. We are the laughing stock of the college football world already.
Hope no Gus, though he would seem exactly the type of coach Gogue - and JJ - would hire believing he is both a top name and with AU experience.
But he has no substantial experience and I'm not sold on his personnel management or team discipline.
Now it might have been Chizik interfering, but on a number of occasions I saw Malzahn's offense sputter and stop against the best teams.
That is an improvement from what we have now.
Gimmick offense? Funny, but Gus had a power runner who gaine 1000+ yards in each of his 3-seasons as our OC! He stepped in on a team that was pathetic the year before, and with "Chris Todd", he broke most of our offensive records....and with Sir Cameron, he took it to another level. I'm not saying that he definitely should or shouldn't be the guy, but in 4-seasons as an OC in the SEC, 1 @ Arky, 3 @ AU, he went to Atlanta twice. His team, and that gimmick of an offense, as you refer to it, is leading their *conference in "Rushing"!
*I fully understand that the Sun Belt isn't a great conference and I'm not comparing it to anything, just pointing out the fact that his version of the spread is set-up by running the football.
Wouldn't the "second in charge" be the Assistant Head Coach? That would be Trooper Taylor.
As someone who has served in the military for 18 years, I will tell you unless you're the #1 guy, you're not establishing very much policy. An organization's culture, good or bad, starts at the top.
I'll never quite understand why Gus gets such a bad rap around here. People blame him for things beyond his control and look for reasons to give credit elsewhere for his outstanding work here.
- our offense, the year before he got here and the year after he left, were ATROCIOUS. Beyond terrible.
- his offense put up record-breaking numbers with CHRIS TODD, who QB'd a terrible offense the year before
- if 2010 was a fluke because if Cam, who found and recruited him? GUS did. Gus maximized Cam's talents, instead of force-fitting him into a system he wasn't made for (aka the Loeffler method)
- true, Malzahn wanted Pike & Frazier. Both were 4-star QB's and Frazier might've been very good in Gus's system. Gus also wanted Driskell and he sure looked pretty good last night and this year.
I would be ecstatic if we hired him - the guy is literally an offensive genius. I challenge anyone who disagrees to study his offense over the years (beyond watching games on TV) and come to a different confusion.
Alabama delenda est.
And anyone who calls Gus's offense a "gimmick" clearly hasn't studied much football. He runs power running plays right out of the old Single Wing - 100 years old and around back when the forward pass was a "gimmick."
You mean like bammer and lsu and Georgia in 2010?
