The SEC head coaching jobs are all filled, but the recruiting repercussions have yet to take shape. We grade each SEC hire from a recruiting perspective.
It's too early to say. The question I have is how these guys will develop the players they get.
Based on recruiting alone, I agree with Gus' B+ rating so far. But I will bet he ends up with an A on his final exam on NSD.
The wheels on the bus go 'round and 'round.
I'm worried that Bielema is going to get SEC schools in trouble with the NCAA. He went to the media to cry about Urban Meyer's recruiting (as the linked article pointed out). It's a dirty game down here.
He will either jump into the fray or he will report every violation
In the rough and tumble SEC, recruiting is a different animal than anywhere else in the country. Bielema publicly expressed serious issues with Urban Meyer bringing that SEC style up north to the Big Ten. What does he expect now that he’s battling 11 other Urban Meyer-style recruiters?
Last time I checked there were 14 teams in the SEC, so wouldn't that mean he would have 13 more teams to compete against?
I agree that SEC experience gives Malzahn one plus going into his first season. Grades should however wait until significant games are played. Maybe three years down the road grade the 2012 new coaches.
