Hey Auburn family. I have been laid off from my job since 7/3/2012. So I have decided to start a handyman business. It seems there is no such thing as ''job security'' any more.
The name of my business is Property Maintenance Solutions. I'm a state licensed electrician ''Journeyman'' and I carry 1,000,000 in liability insurance.
I do everything from handyman work to cleaning windows, pressure washing and cleaning out gutters. I service commercial and residential properties.
My service area is Birmingham and surrounding areas. If I can be of assistance please give me a call (205)552-9222
If I have offended anyone with my post, because it is not football related. I apologize.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post!!! Ted

Good luck to ya buddy.
Fearless and true.
Good luck, Ted! I live in Augusta, Ga. and I know it is hard sometimes to find someone who can do a little of everything. Start a Facebook page if you don't already have one!
Want to go work in Afghanistan for a year or two?
Malzahn approves of NOW Boot Camp! Well...not really...but he would if he knew about it :) www.nowbootcamp.com
Praying for you.
It would be good for you to start a Facebook page for your company. I think Facebook is one of the best marketing tools for a small business. Plus it is free. Good luck to you.
Best wishes to you, Ted... wish Titus was closer to Birmingham.

We're all with you. Can't think of a better place to post this than with family.
If you can do so, create an S-corp for your business. Business income to the corp probably won't infringe on unemployment and money taken out of the company is non-taxable dividends. You pay the taxes on the profit instead of the corp so there's no double taxes and no self employment taxes or social security except for salary once you are firmly established.
I wish I had been young and fit enough to do this when I was laid off, but because of my injured knees I can only do desk work. 40 years as an accountant and financial systems consultant, as well as a masters degree, and can't find a job anywhere within 50 miles. The people I know doing general handy work are staying busy, even in the depressed area around Ft. Payne.

Thanks every one for you kind and encouraging words!!!!
Start listening to Dave Ramsey IMMEDIATELY!
Until you can find a "permanent" job, apply at a Papa Johns and deliver pizza. Any income you can bring in is important.

The reason I have been so scarce on 24/7 of late is because I finally got a job after having been out of work since July of 2009. I am very fortunate to be employed and the job is a very good one, although it takes me away from Auburn Undercover and home because I am working a lot of OT (getting paid OT as well!).
Good luck on your new endeavor! WAR EAGLE!!!
Best of luck. I hope all goes well with your new venture.
Call me 205 533 0615. I may have some electrical work for you.
