I was out of town away from a TV and haven't seen a single play or the ESPN highlights. I know the score but it sounds like from reading this board that we were not only beaten in every phase of the game but our players were unemotional and quit. Was it more of the same or was it worse?
I also did not see the game (I don't get ESPNU.) but I did listen to the AU broadcast and their description pretty much was what you describe. I don't recall them using the word "quit" and that may be a little strong but they (especially Stan White) were not happy with the effort and execution they saw. They described us pretty much getting beaten soundly in almost every phase of the game. (We did get the best of aTm in the punting game... but I think they only punted once or twice all night and that was in the 2nd half after they had removed most of their starters.)
War Eagle !!!
They called the dogs off after the first series in the 3rd quarter. W e still couldn't stop them with our 1st team defense still in against their 2's and 3's. Oh wait we did make their 3rd string punt, the only time all night. Sumlin did the humane thing and took it easy on us the 2nd half. They only scored 21 with a non stop clock running. To answer your question.......WORSE!!!
