according to a poster that has been pretty good at his information if the past, is claiming Mike Slive has basically told all SEC schools it would NOT be a good idea not to hire Petrino, according to this guy, the command is coming at the request of the little midget, TIFWIW, however, if true, shows how much the midget does not want to face Petrino every year, I am sure he would prefer the current blockbuster AU Staff and why we should hire this guy pronto.
Thanks for the update, can I ask what is your opinion that Slive would make a request like this at the other schools that may be looking for a coach?
Phillip, do you have any comment one way or the other whether Slive is in fact delivering this message, regardless of who may be probing it?

Why would any school, other than arky, care if Petrino is hired or not? Why would anyone take those schools view on him serious?
Regardless... do you think its plausible Slive would suggest to the SEC schools not to hire Petrino? The timing of this post on TOS and your comments last night and today would be pretty coincidental if not. Its starting to make sense now... unless you can tell us that this is "categorically" NOT coming from Slive (regardless of his motivation i.e Saban's influence).
So Slive does not take orders from coaches, but he does tell other schools who they can or cannot hire based upon complaints coming into the SEC office. This is crazy...
If I am Auburn, I hire the best man for the job, PERIOD. That man is BP.
That doesn't pass the sniff test. What is the name of that game where you tell one person and they tell one person and so on until the message has completely changed? The internet is the ultimate example of that game. Also, there are a lot of people who gather info from multiple sites, form a hypothesis, post it on sites where it hasn't been posted yet, and try to look like insiders. There are also a lot of people who purposely put mis-information out there just to get people worked up. Bottom line: use some common sense when it comes to believing what you see posted on message boards.

Saban has things rolling so well over there I honestly don't think he cares who anybody hires. They could beat the Dallas Cowboys.
Also, let's don't forget Slive was our best friend during the Cam fiasco. Let's not be too quick to throw him under the bus.
This makes no sense to me. As I understand it, Slive is an employee of the 14 member institution one of which is Auburn. How would an employee tell one of his employers who they can and cannot hire. I don't buy this at all.
Ok, I'll TIFWIW and it's worth absolutely nothing, NOTHING. This supposedly "shows how much the midget does not want to face petrino every year." Why in the world would he, of all people, not want to face petrino every year? That notion is absurd. What team in this league has "the midget" shown that he can't beat? What coach in this league has "the midget" shown that he can't beat? Honestly, I know you're just reporting what you've heard but what you've heard is nonsense. I swear I don't know how stuff like this gets started.
I totally agree with you. Why would coach A not want to play coach B given the fact that coach B has never won a game against coach A?
