Thanks for your comments, I have missed hearing anything positive about Auburn. Our
own fan base is going to do more damage than any outside forces may.
The fan base mirrors the state of the program. And if you're a TRUE Auburn fan, why do you insist on telling everyone to lower their expectations (i.e., "We're simply NEVER going to be able to hire a Nick Saban caliber coach here, BOTTOM LINE!")? You are the type of fan that Auburn doesn't need. I'm sure 8 or 9 wins a year is all you need to be happy forever. Sorry, but no. Auburn is NOT some football backwater, NOT some second-tier program. The fact that YOU have decided to buy into that second-class thinking doesn't mean the rest of us have. That kind of thinking is destructive to the long term health of the program.
If mediocrity is okay with you, please head over to an Ole Miss board. I'm sure you'll find plenty of like-minded fans there.
You make it sound as if all the problems are caused by the fans. That we are somehow upset that the margin of victory isn't big enough. Fan reaction (booing, leaving game early, etc) doesn't hurt recruiting-LOSING HURTS RECRUITING!
We are like the Titanic-the ship is sinking and the coaches/AD are rearranging the deck chairs and telling us "not to panic, everything is going to be ok".
Alabama fans love Alabama football
Auburn fans love Auburn University
"Get in where you fit in." Life is, Too Short TL;DR
