I was born in 1986 and my dad was an Auburn fan and thus I was fortunate to have that passed on to me. I remember watching the games with him growing up, but my first true Auburn memory came during the 1997 Iron Bowl. We were watching it together and with Alabama leading 17-15 with the clock ticking down, my dad was fuming as he thought all hope was lost. A run by Alabama and they could kill most of the clock, leaving Auburn basically needing a miracle. As fate would have it, Alabama would throw a pass and a gift would be given to us. A forced fumble and fumble recovery followed by a Jaret Holmes FG and Auburn took down the Tide, 18-17. This video was recommended for me when I got on YouTube this morning and since I'm new, I just decided to share it and share one of my first true Auburn memories.
@2:49 Auburn's #4 is former Auburn defensive back Jason Bray (1995-98) - cousin of Quan.
That was an excellent game. It was the first Iron Bowl that my wife and I attended. I would like to take the time to apologize to another student. He hit me and my wife with a big flag 4 or 5 times so I finally took it from him and tossed it in the flower bed.
Thanks for the cool responses. It was neat to see other people have walk down memory lane as I did with that video. It was just too ironic for that video to pop up this morning so I had to share. Definitely glad that I did and I'm glad my post sparked some more great memories from some of you as well.
Ive been an auburn fan since i could remember. born Jan 1983 i remember really getting in tune with AU in 1993 at the age of 10. I had been to games before but was not old enough to understand. well 17 yr later i finally made it to my first game. AU v. Clemson and holy shit was my rear end puckered for that one. i was like my first AU game cant be a lose and it was like they heard my thoughts. I attended 3 games in 2010 and I am glad to say i ma 3-0 at AU games.. The clemson game has to be my fondest memory. War Eagle
