retaining Jay Jacobs.
Dr. Gogue, please explain why Auburn Athletics, under JJ, have been sub par?
Dr. Gogue, do you have confidence in JJ hiring another coach?
Dr. Gogue, do you support Auburn becoming the doormat of the SEC?
Dr. Gogue, does the future of Auburn Athletics concern you under JJ leadership?
As bad as I hate to say this, the day bama hired Nick Saban, was a dark day for Auburn University. Why? Because the Auburn family still has no answer, zip, zero, nada, for the hiring of Saban. Instead, we go out and hire average with ridiculous buy-out clauses and expect different results. Really guys, is Petrino the answer? Come on? We would be better off going to Seattle with a BLANK check with a message, "Welcome to Auburn coach". As Deon Sanders puts it so eloquently. Just Pay The Man!
I believe in a sound mind, and a sound mind would not retain Jay Jacobs, unless there was some SERIOUS incentive to do so.
And it ain't the GREAT job he's doin'. Let me tell ya.
Since Saban was hired, Auburn football has won a National Championship.
Concerning your questions to Gogue, clearly he's comfortable with JJ providing input into the decision about HC and clearly the future of Auburn Athletics under JJ's leadership does not concern him.
I think it's safe to assume that Dr. Gogue does not find it acceptable for Auburn to become an SEC doormat-he essentially indicated that in all likelihood Chizik will be fired and he's forming a search committee for his replacement. BUt really the question begs the question-seriously, don't you think?
