The difference from our fans and other teams is simple. We are so freaking pessimistic it is disgusting sometimes. I think I will stop reading this board or begin to use the ignore function pretty quickly.
f$u, turds, most elite programs- their fanbases believe they will get any recruit they want and will say that until the LOI is faxed to another school.
Poor ole Auburn- Our mods say we lead, our staff has signed 2 consecutive top 5 classes and our b*tch a** "fans" believe that every kid will sign elsewhere and we will lose our already committed guys to our rivals, while raiding Troy and JSU to fill spots on our poor old football team.
STFU or grow a pair of steel stones...this is GROWN MAN recruiting. No we will not get everybody but we will get our share. We will be competing for the SEC again very soon. We have the best coaching staff in America IMO so until you receive your check from Auburn University Athletic Department please read more an post less

Way to whip this board back in shape.
Athletics make men strong; Study makes men wise; Character makes men great.
I am certain that the sunshine pumpers will down vote me in masses, because I am not confident we’ll close great this season in recruiting. It does not matter. If Auburn's coaches cannot get a few of our top recruits to commit by Saturday, then don't expect a good day on Wednesday. A Big Time Silent commitment does us no good. We need some momentum going into NSD.
Auburn's problem this year with closing strong will be that CGC waited way too long to bring in our coordinators. I don't care how good these hires were; CGC dropped the ball, took too much time and took the excitement out of these hires. I think we will have a couple of surprises, but for one reason or another Auburn has had no excitement to build on in recruiting. That's how this recruiting game is played. Top recruits get excited to commit where other top recruits are committing. Auburn has not had a Big Time Commitment in what seems to be an eternity. They have had BIG TIME departures. THIS HOPING for a Big NSD does not seem possible.
I want to get all excited about NSD. I really do, but we have taken way to much BS since winning the NC and IMO let it impact our swag.

ON TO VICTORY - STRIKE UP THE BAND
Insecure!!! We will win it all soon and very soon....
I've had more then one person outside of our Auburn fanbase tell me that AU fans have to be the most pessimistic fan base they know. At first I said, no, we're just more realistic about our team's strength's and weaknesses, but after the last month, I agree with him. I feel like I've spent more time during this period defending AU to our own fans that I have to any outsiders (of course, some on this board ARE actually outsiders in disguise). People need to stop pinning their standard of success of our recruiting class or even our program on signing that ONE player or hiring that ONE coach. The bottom line is delivered on the field. Why don't we hold off judging the success or "failure" of any part of our program until they actually have a chance to perform and deliver.
I'm going to go on record right now and say regardless of who we sign in this year's class, we will finish as one of the top 25 (if not significantly higher) defenses in the country next year. I believe BVG is that good. I can't WAIT to see what Loeffler does with Frazier. Would love to see him get Frazier to the point where we're comfortable with Pike redshirting next year - have Moseley as backup, although he needs to grow some man hair before the season and get tougher when the pocket collapses. That way we have the QB position sewed up for at least the next 5-6 years and be able to reload at QB instead of rebuild. I'll admit, I'm also anxious to see what kind of offense CSL runs. I've seen BVG's defenses (I live in GA) but not sure what to expect from CSL. I'm a little nervous, but it's an excited kind of nervous. Really looking forward to seeing out the OL develops next year. we'll still be a little young but extremely talented. I think this OL could be one we're still reading about when the history is written about this period. I could go on but let's just say I'm really excited about the future of AU football! War Eagle!

I belive in Auburn, and love it! War Eagle every day!
