Wow, I wish everyone could have heard Pollack's response to the hire of Brian VanGorder to Auburn..... He started by correcting Jay Barker Evans, when asked if BVG was a good hire at AU. "He's not a good hire, he is a Great hire!!" he then went on talking about how much time BVG puts in to studying film and formations and discovering what teams do really good and what they tend to struggle with.. He mentioned that he was so intelligent as a DC that he could be rivaled by no one in the industry....
He told a story of a time when he watched a Tulsa vs Louisville (i think?) game with coach BVG and his family. He said Coach BVG had studied so much film on Louisville that out of the 86 offensive plays they ran, He guessed 81 plays correctly before the snap!!!!! I was floored! He went on about how he tried to pick BVG's brain all the time because he was so knowledgeable about the game. He asked the jox crew if they remembered his interception against South Carolina in which they responded with "YEH".He said that when he made tha interception, that he had studied film on them with Brian and there was a certain formation USC ran, (they had a name for it), that was a rollout play 95% of the time and thats how he positioned himself to make the big INT.
He continued by saying that if a team was good at a certain thing, that BVG would exploit that aspect and make them do something they were not so good at.... he used the analogy that if you were right handed he would make you play left handed and if you were left handed he would make you play right handed... He's that good!
He said the he is the type of coach that will teach you to be a man and always he demanded perfection, and if you stunk he would tell you that you stunk in front of everybody... and if you made a mistake on film, he would circle you with the laser pointer during film study and say "what is this crap"... not to hurt feelings, but to hold everyone accountable..
He finished by saying that there would be a drastic turnaround in Auburn's Defense and it would happen quickly. Jay Barker Evans said, Auburn finished the season ranked 76, what do you think BVG can do for auburn in the next 2 years.... Pollack said that we would be a top 25 Defense NEXT YEAR and most likely even better by year 2!!! He ended by saying that BVG was loved and very respected by his players...
All i can say is BOOM! and I am glad that he told Jay Barker Evans how it was gonna be! WDE
Thanks for the post! Awesome news!!! I wish I could have heard it myself but your replay was awesome!
Pollack is proof that BVG can take a 2-3 star player and convert him into a 5 star NFL ready player. We already have the top athletes they just need a little guidance.

Me thinks we should invite BVG to be a member of the nWo. He could be our Rick Rude. [bvg]
