Could it be that Chizik's style of keeping things so close to the vest is also hurting him? He typically just gives the coach-speak responses that there's no question about it. He doesn't seem to want to just speak from the heart and lay some things out there for us. Well, that's fine when you are winning, but if you are trying to sell patience, the big picture, and long term- you better be a good salesman and sell what you are doing. SEC football fans aren't known for blind patience and Auburn's last three coaches were fired after their only losing season or after their only losing season since year1. So, if Chizik knew or at least now knows that patience is needed, he probably should be more proactive with his message. Sometimes I think Phillip's analysis might include some things that would be helpful for CGC to say himself. So, I just think that he isn't well served by basically saying mostly coac-speak. At some point soon, he needs to get a whole lot more competitive and win more or he better be proactive and instill a lot of confidence that he knows how to turn this around. He could learn a lot by watching a President who is about to convince the American people to give him four more years even though he hasn't lived up to where he promised we would be four years ago.
I was just about to post this message. I think Chiz has definitely been the number one factor for all the AU message boards going to crap recently (nothing against you Phillip and Bryan). But chizik's coach speak leaves nothing to talk about because it clearly isn't genuine for better or worse. Good times or bad it's been the same five sentences on repeat over and over and over. Not like chizik is supposed to please the message board nerds but I think the lack of a true response to questions, good or bad, have driven all of us insane so when he talks about "nearly there" and "learning, progressing and slowing things down" week after week when we are doing hardly that, people seek the ledge. I thinking honest answers were given throughout, the general outlook would e more accurate.
