Yes, he has definitely paid his dues. And he is dead-on. The effort was fantastic, but some of the offensive calls were questionable. Would LOVE to see our fullback more often with Mason and Blakely getting more carries off tackle. We have yet to even attempt to wear down a defense with our run game. And I believe that our run game could be fantastic with our personnel on offense. Screens and McCalleb constanly sweeping left or right for 1 yard does not cut it against fast, SEC defenses.
The story is true but it was Randy Walls against Mississippi State. Randy Campbell was in elementary school in 1972.
Saw Randy leaving the game Saturday. He is an excellent example to the phrase that if you can't do much at least do it well. In the 1983 Sugar Bowl he graded nearly perfect running the bone according to coaches. If only he could throw, Auburn would have beaten UM by 4 TD's. 350 plus yards rushing. UM averaged sub 100ypg on defense.
Charlie's comments are kinda refreshing coming from him after listening to all the coachspeak we get.
Who is Probst? CT can say what he wants, as anyone on this board. But no one, other than the coaches and players, know what is really going on. CSL had a good plan....not perfect (but what OC has a perfect plan?). The blocking was suspect at times, esp on the outside. Had we gotten the DB's blocked on some key plays, then we score more. But LSU's secondary play like LBs and I think it caught some of our WRs by surprise.
first off Randy campbell didn't play in '72. Try '82. Running the wishbone i would believe that statement of only 5 plays but i would have thought it to be 6. dive to the right, pitch to the right, keep to the right. then do same thing to the left.
