So frustrating. Down by 1, we rebound the ball with 15 seconds to play. Walk the ball up the court and don't even set up a play... just isolation to Frankie. Barbee, call your timeout and set up something that resembles a play. I hate watching our basketball team, we can't get out of our own way to win some games. This is a very talented team and we deserve to win some games, but until someone other than Frankie Sullivan decides that he is a winner and actually scores some points... it is gonna be bad.
Such a frustrating team to watch. Off the ball fouls. Josh Wallace running the point (horribly). Chubb's butterfingers. Allen Payne not even attempting help defense. Fundamentals... geez.

To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift.
What you see is what you get and this is what we are seeing as the third season begins. I'm still waiting on something to convince me to get on board with barbee.
Let me help.....
Here is the play and it will show why there really is no reason to call a set play.
The Play- Give the ball to Frankie hope he can make a shot.
Why there is no reason to call a play?? Because the BC kidfs would have just put 2 guys on Frankie (like they did) and keep him from shooting. And they did. So what you got was a set play. Itsw the only play this group knows. They stand and watch Frankie all night. Why change the plan??
Poor to pathetic baskeball season awaits for all who are interested!
If you cant be honest....whats the point of being anything?
A little harsh but i agree mostly. I've said in a couple of threads that i didn't understand why we had Josh Wallace in the game there in crunch time...and then he threw the ball away. Our lineup was pretty small at that point which gave them the chance for the tiny underclassman's up and under on us as well. Definitely a humbling game.
we recruited third best in the SEC last year FWIW. Lots of young talent that is bound to gel at some point.
Im with you king. No real reason to watch anymore.
Just damn sad. We havent even gotten to SEC play and we are already UNDER .500.... With not much hope of getting better!
Gel?? they dont even get quality minutes. How are they supposed to gel??
And to top it off they have the bad influence of Lebos kids on them. And those dudes have struggled ever since they stepped on the court!
I believe it's only a matter of time until we see 3 or all 4 freshman starting. They're too good not to be. I think Barbee is planning on easing them in rather than put the entire team on their back 4 to 5 games in.
I agree with you, Rob but i also believe we will improve game by game.

Only 2 things I am afraid of, women and the police. Gator McClusky
I will believe it when I see it sir.
this group of kids on teh floor couldnt look worse right now. they struggle to score 50 on most nights and the defense they have used is "hope the other team sux enough for us to gaurd them".
Bad trend going on here. We are talking about the same things every single year. And barbee has noone to blame bu himself for the attrition. A full class got sent home and it wasnt Lebos kids...It was his kids that HE recruited!
Now that's funny, I don't care who you are. +1
BC was picked to be last in the ACC this year... Just saying.
Jacobs hired him too, right?
Well he is an average coach with no real talent in making good players great players...So OF COURSE Jay Jacobs hired him. It is the mans MO!
