... and how many days of practice do they get, how many good scrimmages, etc. Bryan?
I don't think they've set an exact date but it will be the first week of August. They'll probably have 3-4 scrimmages before the start of the season.
Is CGC's philosophy to NEVER allow a QB to be hit in practice or actual scrimmage? Also, I remember in my old high school days (early 60's), we started full contact about the fourth day of practice, and as soon as everybody was on the same page, we had full scrimmages three times per week until the start of the season, which meant we would have about 9 full scrimmages before our first game. Then after the season started, we would always have scrimmages on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Things have really changed.
I don't know many coaches that allow their QB's to be live during practices or scrimmages these days. I don't believe Chizik has allowed that since he's arrived. I remember Tuberville allowing his QB's to be live during a scrimmage several years ago and one getting hurt.
