Bill O'Brien has been the antidote to all that ails Penn Staters these days. Patriot-News writers David Jones had to ask him in a clear yes/no manner whether he would be the Penn State coach next season. "You guys gave legs last week to a story that... there's no story there. Y'know, I'm focused on one game at a time. I'm focused on this football team. That's not something that I even think about. I think about that I'm the head football coach at Penn State. And I'm looking forward to getting this team ready for Wisconsin," O'Brien said. Jones: "It's a yes or no question." O'Brien: "It might be for you. For me, it's Wisconsin. And this football team and this senior class. That's where I think the questions should be directed: Indiana. The senior class. Getting ready for Wisconsin." Jones: "Well, that's gonna sound to the fans like you're noncommittal." O'Brien: "I'm the head football coach at Penn State. I love coaching here. And I can't get back to work on Monday and get ready for Wisconsin."

Defeat doesn't finish a man - quit does. A man is not finished when he's defeated. He's finished when he quits. - Richard Nixon
Yet again, our administration is dropping the ball. The man has made it clear he has an interest in the Auburn job yet we haven't even given him a whiff. I'm getting more and more frustrated by the minute. The big names and great coaches are out there. We're just not trying to get them. We won't get a big time coach if we don't try to get a big time coach.
Statements like this confuse me a little. How do you know what our administration has or has not done?
Obrien wouldn't be a home run but he'd be a solid triple in my book, much stronger than Malzahn.

"you're so vain, I'll bet you think this post is about you, don't you? Don't you?"
