It was amazing. It didn't hurt that Jozy had a hat-trick that day.
Fearless and true.
1991(I think) Atlanta Braves playoff when Sid Bream slid home to win. Because of the drought of playoffs before the place went crazy and stayed that way for almost an hour. Very few left.
1996 Olympics when Carl Lewis won the gold medal in the long jump for the 4th consecutive Olympics. Also went to the water polo gold medal match. No US team but lots of fun being around other people screaming for their country . . . couldn't understand a word they said but enthusiasm for your team translates well in any language.
“they ain't got nothing but people...Alabama mystique...Georgia mystique...they’ve done it with people. Hell, we’ve got people, too.”Pat Dye

Auburn from day one.
Over? Did you say over? It's not over until we say it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell NO!!!
The Masters---If you haven't seen the course in person you cannot imagine the beauty. Impossible for TV to do justice to the elevation changes, proximity of the holes to one another on the backside, roars from the crowd, etc. If you are a golfer you have to go at least once, even if it's a practice round.
I not only covered the last U.S. final between Agassi and Sampras, I was in the locker room with them the hour leading up to the match.
Sampras retired after that match.
For me, that is hard to top.

Went to Duffs first US Open with him in Tulsa, stayed at Tour hotel, hung out on range and putting green. Was with him in Atlanta for PGA Championship. Saw 4 former and future heavyweight champions of the world box in Vegas at The Hilton in 1987. Mike Tyson's 6th heavyweight defense agai at Pinklon Thomas, Buster Douglas fought Tony Tucker on the undercard! It was electric to say the least! 10 days in the dessert in Jan 2011 was the best trip I have ever taken!
Dale Earnhardt's last win at Talladega (14th to first with 4 laps to go)
Masters 2012 (Everyone should go at least once. Its like a theme park, but better)
Troy U football 1986 championship in Florence, AL
Troy U baseball 1980's championships in Montgomery
I was at the race at Talladega when Gordon won under caution and the coolers and beer cans came flying onto the track. An occurrence that repeated itself several times that season. I love Talladega.
And the most important event: After me and my son worked so hard on his hitting, watching him nail a hanging curveball for a Grand Slam, his first home run, a few weeks back.
"Get in where you fit in." Life is, Too Short TL;DR
Cavs vs. Celtics in Boston when Lebron and Shaq were still with the Cavs. Even though I'm a Celtics fan it was cool to see them at the garden.

2002 Kentucky Derby with War Emblem winning. Most everyone one I was with was for
Auburn and bet on War Emblem because the name was similar to War Eagle.
Talladega in the late 70s and early 80s. The races started at 1pm, there was no tv and the crowds were tremendous.
Spring training baseball in Florida. If you've never been, it's worth it.
Duke carolina in Cameron. Olympics.
You suck! I only say that because I am jealous. They are 2 of my all time favorites. I love me some USA tennis! Who did you cover the event for?
The Gus Bus is coming! Get on or get run over, your choice!
Stay thirsty my friends......
When I was at the St. Pete Times, I covered pro tennis as one of my assignments.
Not sure if this link still works, but this is a feature on Agassi I did after visiting with him in Vegas: http://www.sptimes.com/2004/08/01/Sports/For_Agassi__it_s_subs.shtml
