Below is a link to the USA Today poll of the best High School Rivalry in the Country. The Battle of Murder Creek (TR Miller vs. WS Neal) is a finalist in this poll and is representing the state of Alabama in the Southern rivalry region. The good folks in Brewton would appreciate your vote!
If you do not have a dog in the fight it is just fun looking at the different rivalries described. You may recognize many of these schools as many of them produce big time college prospects almost every year.

The oldest rivalry in the state is Guntersville vs Albertville. They've played 98 times and used to play on Thanksgiving Day. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
Can't speak for the nation but one of if not best in Alabama is Dadeville-Reeltown who always open the season. I think they have 7 state titles between them. Sweetwater-Leroy is another with storied tradition on both sides. Has WS Neal won a state title?
49-21 series record? Damn. That sounds more like a pounding rather than a rivalry.
I was going to put a witty joke here, but I forgot bama fans still use picture books. So I thought I'd expedite the process for you...
"you're so vain, I'll bet you think this post is about you, don't you? Don't you?"
I've got too much Auburn in me to act like bammer trash.
Haha yep. Miller usually whips that butt. It has been more intense over the past couple years as Neal has won a few here lately.
Reeltown-Tallassee was/is brutal. They had to quit playing each other in all sporting events because it just got to bad. Im not sure if there back playing again or not.
It wasn't a rivalry - it was Tallassee being Tallassee. Same reason Dadeville stopped playing them.
Auburn High vs Opelika High hands down. There is like a two game difference in the series History.
Elmore County vs. Tallassee is another huge Rivalry.
Good friends are hard to find. Enjoy every moment you have with them.
Beat me to it.
I think gville leads now by 1or 2 games. Now that's a rivialry
Hoover vs Vestavia Hills. Always a standing room only crowd.
Wetumpka vs stanhope elmore is another, when I played at wetumpka in the late 90s one year each of us vandalized the others statue mascots and school buildings and rolled the trees
