When players arrived at the Atlanta Falcons' practice facility on Wednesday morning, they were greeted by a four-sentence farewell from their former head coach, Bobby Petrino.
Inside each player's locker stall was the following letter:
Atlanta Falcons players:
Out of my respect for you, I am letting you know that, with a heavy heart, I resigned today as head coach of the Atlanta Falcons. This decision was not easy, but it was made in the best interests of me and my family. While my desire would have been to finish out what has been a difficult season for us all, circumstances did not allow me to do so. I appreciate your hard work and wish you the best.
The red signature on the attached photo of his locker letter was added by an Atlanta Falcons player.
This is not the type of loyalty and commitment I want at Auburn. This is only one of the many examples of the carnage he has left behind at each stop. A lot of posts are being written to justify his past actions. If we do hire him, don't be surprised by how his story ends at Auburn - his past actions speak for themselves.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Barely 24 hours after another blowout loss with the Atlanta Falcons, Bobby Petrino...
It's funny but you are doing the same thing that pro-Petrino folks are doing. Should you be stooping your actions down to their level of actions? See how this judging thing works? It works on everybody. You don't know the future anymore than the next guy and you want the most talented coach interested and available not hired for something we have all done - lie
Hey Tgr88! KICK ROCKS!
Yet another new "Auburn" fan posting anti-Petrino crap. I'm pretty sure the Dolphins felt and STILL feel the same way about Saban after he LIED and bolted but I'm sure if he wanted to come to Auburn no one would object. Try again!
I was going to put a witty joke here, but I forgot bama fans still use picture books. So I thought I'd expedite the process for you...
One really good side benifit of hiring Bobby Petrino is it would shake out alot of DEADWOOD Auburn fans. The ones who are all for Auburn when things are going good and when the program suites their fancy. BOBBY PETRINO COME ON DOWN!!!
