As a recruiting pitch this year? I would think and hope so. The next couple of years, it will probably be less of an advantage, as more schools catch on and start to offer them.
First I heard Auburn was using them was yesterday. But I will check and see if they were using it as a recruiting pitch.
Didnt CGC say in the press conference yesterday that all schollys were one year?
Chizik is once again ahead of the curve. Smart guy.
Yes but the athletic dept corrected it later
the only question i have about it is will it really make a difference with the elite kids? do they really care if they have a 1 or 4 year scholly? most of them think they are good enough regardless.
BM/PM, sorry if this question has already been answered in another thread but are the 4-year scholarships something that the athletic dept plans on doing in the future as well? Or was it just a one year thing that they did for this year's recruiting class?
Thanks in advance for the info Bryan! War Eagle!
If they used it, then how could Chizik have said otherwise in his presser? Seems like something you'd be pretty sure about if you were using it as a pitch.

Started at the bottom, now we here.....better get used to it.
i agree. i guess my main question was, some people having been saying this is a big advantage against other SEC schools, and i was just wondering how it could make that big of a difference.
"you're so vain, I'll bet you think this post is about you, don't you? Don't you?"
To me, the late correction looked more like a ploy by the athletic department to look good in the face of all that went on with Bama yesterday...
Auburn...a family tradition since 1905
No way, Chizik is a good perso that genuinely cares. The 4 year deals are from his heart! It has nothing to do with a sells pitch.
