I would like to say I am proud of the Auburn Hockey team this year. It is truly a great sport, a great sport to take the family to and enjoy some good skating and hockey. I went to the last game this past Saturday in the Columbus Civic Center against Tennessee and it was an epic game. We ended the season sweeping the Vols. The saturday game featured some of the most intense and hard hitting I have seen, The Vols coach and one player ended up with ejections as the Auburn team put 7 pucks in the net in the second period. Auburn held on for a 8-5 win to close the season. Most people who read this will not really care, cause all they only enjoy is the big three sports, there is so much more to enjoy at Auburn on any given weekend. Get and enjoy all sports we have to offer. WAR EAGLE
I like to hear of ANY Auburn sport doing well. Thanks for the post!
The season is now over however you can follow the team on facebook at, Auburn University Hockey
kick 'em in the ass, big blue.
I enjoy reading about the minor sports, even the 'Collegiate Club' teams, which I assume this is. What was their final record, and who did they beat?
Does anyone have any info on the men's Lacrosse and Volleyball teams, both of which are C.C.?
Don't let Jacobs know we have a hockey team. He'll hire one of his back slappin buddies and the next thing you know you'll have a GM and the whole thing will be down the drain.
I played hockey as a kid and through high school and would have killed to be able to have played while I was at Auburn. Although it's not traditionally a southern sport there is a lot to love for our fan base. I haven't been to any games but will be sure to do it next year with my son. UAH in Huntsville has had a great D1 hockey program for years and I'd love to see Auburn replicate that. Thanks for drawing some attention to this!
A coworker sent this link to me yesterday. We will be playing in the SECHC Tournament in Huntsville this weekend.
Good friend of mine played the first year they started back up. I went to multiple games to support them. Real happy they are doing well.
ON TO VICTORY - STRIKE UP THE BAND
I noticed your ATL in your name. Did you play out of Duluth or Marietta? I also played growing up and still play men's league today at the ice forum in Duluth.
I don't know about the men's volleyball team, but the lacrosse team is off to a 3-1 start. You can the most info on the team at http://laxteams.net/auburn/
Great sport. Although not a traditional "southern" sport, interest does seem to be growing in the area. It is fun to watch. That is one of the things I learned in grad school.
One of my classmates had been on the UAH hockey team and was hired to play for the local Huntsville pro team after he started grad school. Good student and nice guy - at least when he was not on the ice!
If you are in the area, go support the Tigers in the SEC Tournament at the ICEPLEX in Huntsville this weekend.
War Eagle! Go Tigers!
Yes, I believe in Auburn.
If you're ever in Nashville, come check out the Predators. Hockey is truly fun, tough guy sport.
