I don't know this to be the case, but I suspect MD was facing a 6 game minimum suspension and a demotion to boot. Maybe his pride was not going to let him endure this virtual loss of a year's eligibility. His move will give him time to grow up as well keep his remaining two years of eligibility. If I am not mistaken, sitting out a year at Auburn would not save him a years eligibility had he stayed. Bryan may know that answer.
The sad thing about MD is that his #5 Jersey could have been as popular as #2 had he stayed. Pitiful.
This is for the Auburn Family and everyone who played here before we did. I love ya'll, War Eagle!' Nosa Equae 10/19/13 Kyle Field Texas A&M
This is definitely through my orange and blue shades, but it's possible that Chizik and Malzahn felt that letting him go, and letting him possibly go to Arkansas State with Malzahn, would be best for the kid's overall future. He obviously needs a change of scenery and having someone familiar with you and your problems can do wonders for a kid, especially in the whole picture, ignoring football. We all know Chizik cares about these kids and some things are bigger than football.
"you're so vain, I'll bet you think this post is about you, don't you? Don't you?"
CGM is a lucky guy. You get to bring a 5 star, 1st round RB with you to Arky St to key your offense?
Dyer is going to run roughshod through that league.
