I was going to put a witty joke here, but I forgot bama fans still use picture books. So I thought I'd expedite the process for you...

I bought a small bottle a while back and I thought it was great. I'm not a connoisseur but it's very smooth and definitely the best scotch I've tried. There's a reason people pay that much money and its not just status. That being said, cache is definitely included in the price. So other than to say you've tried it you should probably be drinking something less expensive because the difference in experience isn't worth the premium price unless you have enough money that the $400 a bottle price tag isn't something to sweat. Basically, if you have to ask if it's worth the money, then it probably isn't (for you). I prefer johnny walker green label or glennfiddich ancient reserve. They represent a better value if you want a nice scotch but don't watch games in a suite. Just my opinion, and I would definitely recommend you try blue label if you are in to scotch.

I've got a bottle of JWBlue, it was given to me by my BIL as a wedding present.
If you like any of the JW's, or Scotch in general, it's worth the money.
As for Bourbon, as an everyday drink, reach for Knob Creed or Woodford Reserve. For a step up you can't beat Blanton's; I've had the more expensive stuff, but Blanton's is hard to beat.
I'm Still trying to get my hands on some PVW23.
