Has anyone heard any late news on Mr. Penny's condition? If any late news has been posted then I just missed it but now that the season is only 18 days away I was just thinking about how excited we will all be when Shon takes the field for the first time and wondering if Mr. Penny would have the opportunity to be excited also.
I was just thinking about this yesterday, any news would be appreciated.
I have been thinking about him as well. TIA to anyone with info.
I can find out for sure tomorrow, but I'd say very doubtful we see him at any games this year...
I assumed he would not be at any games, but any update would be greatly appreciated.
Mr. Penny is at his home in a specialized bed and is being taken care of by his wife and a personal nurse.

I was just wondering about him last night when I watch the new A96 "Auburn Rising" video. Mr. Penny is in it. God bless him. Does anyone know that specifics of his condition? Can he communicate? Does he understand what's going on around him?
I work with a couple of people who are close to him. I'll find out tomorrow.
Thanks - I was just wondering about him since have not herad any late news. Just a sad situation and wish him the best. He will be missed.
Is he able to communicate ? If we sent him a card would he be aware of it ?
Bump for update please, thank you!

Here's what I've been able to find out...
Johnny is doing way better than anyone expected. He is carrying on conversations, moving both arms/hands, feeds himself, and seems to have no memory loss at all. He can move his right leg, but not his left although he seems to have feeling in that leg.
HIs wife would love for him to have visitors...limited now to folks that he knows.
They would like to get him out of the house and out and about, but don't have a vehicle equipped to carry a wheelchair. A van is a very pressing need for the family.
Emotionally, he has up-up days, and down-down days.
Now you know what I know...
War Damn Mr Penny, get well soon and may God Bless you
ON TO VICTORY - STRIKE UP THE BAND
Thank you very much.
Thanks for the update. Glad to hear he apparently is doing good considering. Do you think it would be appropiate if we could set some kind of AU Family Fund that we could contribute to and see if we could help the family with the purchase of a wheelchair equipped van? I know that it's tough getting contributions these days. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas on whether thismight be a good idea or not? Having bought and sold a wheelchair equipped van for my mom I do know they are not cheap, not even used ones.
