area? I know that Hollis is in Auburn and is offering like $500 per eye. Not really pumped about discount eye surgery if you know what I mean. I am about half hour from Columbus, hour to ATL, half hour to AU so that general area is what I am shooting for. I have battled contacts for 20 years and am ready to get rid of them. I'll turn 40 this year and have had a steady prescription for several years now. I am nearsighted and would love to be able to see again without glasses or fooling with the contacts. Any good recs would be appreciated.
Got mine done in bham at Dr cho at crystal clear vision for 1088 per eye. Awesome results . Definitely not discount on the service. I now have 20-15 both eyes. Same LASIK machines used on naval pilots.
This is what it looks like when a man makes heaven
come out of his six string
Just had artificial lens implants done in both eyes to get rid of cataracts and contacts. I had Lasik about 10 years ago and over time my vision was getting worse since I had early stage of cataracts. My Dr. is Dr. Barry Lee with Piedmont Eye Associates in Atlanta. He is one of the most renowned retina specialists in Geogia and came highly recommended. His practice consists of probably 25 eye specialists and I know that they do Lasik. They won't be in thee $500 - $1,000 range but if I'm goig to let someone slice open my eye I ain't looking for the cheapest. I'm lokoking for the best I can fine. I'm sure there are many out there in the low range but just be sure they are using the latest equipment and technology possible.
I used Dr. Alan Kozarski of Piedmont Eye Center about 10 years ago with excellent results. He also did LASIK on Greg Maddox and Elton John. One of his partners is Dr. Steven Hamilton, an AU graduate.
My wife went to Hollis about 5-6 years ago and hasn't had a problem. She was almost legally blind in one eye and she is now 42 years old and still does not wear glasses for anything. But, they say it may be different for other people. She would recommend Hollis to anyone. Again it's been 5-6 years, so if things have changed we don't know about it. He was in Auburn when she went.

Dr Steven Hamilton in Atlanta does a great job and is an AU alum.
I had mine done at Eye Center South, Dr Heersink did mine. I had them done about 5 years ago and still rocking around 20/15 to 20/20 and solid. It was $3000 there for both eyes and I am certainly with you about not looking for the cheapest around.
I have said on several occasions, I work in a lot of dusty areas so contacts became a very big pain in the butt. This is a very personal decision and I will warn you, it is a very strange feeling being in there.
Yes Dr. Hamilton and Dr. Lee are office partners. Don't know Hamilton but I understand he is an excellent eye specialist also. Dr. Lee is a UK grad with numerous other degrees of course. I would not hesitate to use any of the Piedmont Drs.
Ask your ophthalmologist if he would have the surgery. I sure don't know any who have had it, and I know quite a few. If you are over a -4.00 sph maybe you might consider it. I would not have it.
The best in the business in Dr. Doyle Stulting at Woolfson Eye Institute in Atlanta. He patients include a number of professional athletes, olympic shooters, etc.
Google him and see for yourself.
I used Dr. K in 1996. He was a Emory then. Should have waited. They have improved the procedure. The flap was cut too small then and it allowed cell ingrowth that occurs during healing, to block light in my pupil. The cells have been removed twice, but keep coming back. I don't think Dr. Kozarshi likes me, because I'm a blemish on his record.
