I know, but BJ has been tearing it up here lately. Dan Uggla has been sh#t for the last two or three years. He's awful and is nothing but a meat head that tries to hit a homerun every time and strikes out. Through 68 games this year he has 95 strikeouts.
I was going to put a witty joke here, but I forgot bama fans still use picture books. So I thought I'd expedite the process for you...
Absolutely no doubt about it. And braves are on the hook for 2 more years of his ridiculous salary I do believe. It sucks to have somebody like him that you can't do anything with. Nobody wants him and if you did find a suitor for him you're still going to be paying 85% of his salary. He might bring a mid level prospect back to you at best in any such deal. All you can do is just hope he gets hot again like he did after his horrific start to the 2011 season. Total waste.
Even with BJ "improving" Heyward is still better, he's hitting the ball hard, they're just not falling. Put Schafer in CF and you've got to have Gattis' bat in the lineup whether that's platooning him with Justin in LF or trading McCann who has been underwhelming offensively other than his first week back (yes I know he hit at GS today). And yes, you've got to put Pena at 2B when he gets off the DL

heyward has been playing better. hes raised his average by 70 pts the last month. b.j. had been showing some improvement, just not a bunch. whats killing this team is intelligence. how many times do you have to be struck out on a pitch low, slow, and away before you start thinking hey i'll just hit that pitch the opposite way for a base hit. no these idiots are still swinging for the fences and look like complete asses when they miss it. some of em almost fall down swinging so hard. even with 2 strikes, it doesn't matter. still swinging for the fences. p.s. dan uggla is the poster child for this. he is awwwwwwwweful.
Why do bat a .315 hitter 8th and a .210 hitter 3rd, a .160 hitter 5th and a .180 7th. Maybe Fredi is the problem. Bobby had guys go the other way when they struggle(except with JHey-he is just plain f'ed up). Bench their arses.
I was starting to think that same thing. It seems like Freddi is scared to hurt people's feelings, but whatever it is I have questioned the way he's managed the roster all year. Makes some pretty questionable decisions. I'm willing to bet he sits Schafer the next game just because
What would Kirk Gibson or Jim Leyland do?
