What are your expectations for the 2012 season?
I try to keep my expectation each season resonable. There are alot of unknowns in 2012: New OC, new DC, an unproven QB, the loss of Dyer, and a defense that was underwhelming last season.
Nationally AU took a huge hit last season-we are now perceived as the #4 team in the West (one season removed from the NC). My expectation is to leap past arky and push into the top 2 in the West.
Going 9 & 3 may be nice, but if those 3 losses are to arky, lsu, turds, then we will stay in that same spot. We have to start beating good teams. The highlight of our season should NOT be a goal line stance against mississippi f'ing state!
We need to beat some GOOD teams in 2012.
Alabama fans love Alabama football
Auburn fans love Auburn University
Even if we are only relatively healthy, I believe we go 10-2 in the regular season with a loss to LSwho and GA, while working alabama in the IB. We all know the first step to winning a game is the line of scrimmage, and I believe we will own this defensively. The O-line is going to be interesting as position battles play out and they begin to gel, but I think we can lean on the defense, which would have been crazy to say at some points last season, the first few games to give them time. If we can find a third reliable target for Frazier, who will probably when the QB battle, to throw to, then our offense will certainly find itself. The only set back I think having two new coordinators will present, is Chiz won't get the credit he deserves. I think, like many on here, that this year really lays the foundation "ON THE FIELD and in the eyes of the media", that Auburn is going to be a player for the NC for at least the next couple years.
I Believe Auburn and Love IT...4 Life!
You should prepare yourself to live with the consequences of your decisions, whatever they may be.
I think the key is the first two games. 2 and 0 we go 10 and 2. 1 and 1 we go 9 and 3. 0 and 2 we go 8 and 4. We will get much better as season progresses.

our 10th NC!!!
I'm hoping for a 10-2 regular season. Anything less than 9-3 will be a HUGE disappointment. We've got the Aggies, Corndogs, Puppies, and Piglets at home. If we beat Clemson on the road, then we should be favored against every other road team until the turds. 10-2 with a split between LSU, Arky, Georgia, and the turds would have me convinced that Chizik is on the right track. 9-3 would have me pretty sure he's on the right track.
Edited to add: I don't know why I quoted dbul703091. I was just trying to reply.

My instincts tell me Auburn will go 10-2 in the regular season, maybe even better than that. My practical logic tells me Auburn will be 9-3, which isn't much difference. If they get off to a great start, I see the team developing into a really good team by mid-season, and if that happens I wouldn't be surprised if they won the SEC, and went 11-2 or 12-1. I can't say that I think they will go undefeated, although I do believe stranger things have happened. My bold prediction is the only loss will be to Georgia, and then Auburn gets a rematch with UGA in the SEC championship game, and beats them the second time. Depending on how things play out around the country Auburn could be in the national championship picture after the SEC title game.
Worst case scenario, Auburn is 9-3 this year, and is in every game down to the last possession or two. Although we want more than that, it'd be a great and fun season to knock on the door of perfection and then maybe have a real shot to be perfect in 2013.

Malzahn approves of NOW Boot Camp! Well...not really...but he would if he knew about it :) www.nowbootcamp.com
I'll take the Chiz approach here....Expectation is to win a national championship....
By the way most of what I read above are predictions not really EXPECTATIONS.

..........BEAT BAMA .................BEAT BAMA..................BEAT BAMA
I'm right there with you on this, Clemson is going to be tough, not sure we can pull that one out that early in the season. 9-3/8-4 reg season +1 bowl win. I think we take Arky for sure, UGA is a toss up (I hope), LSU/Bama we're underdogs but we must take 1 of those.
10 wins and I am ecstatic!

Doubt we will win the West, but think we will make it to a bowl game and overall, bowl included, we will be 9-4, hopefully10-3. We will win one we shouldn't win and possibly lose one we shouldn't have lost. But in 2013, we win it ALL!
If it's third-and-22, I expect our defense to give up less than 22.
If it's third-and-1, I expect our offense to get more than 1.
All the things are in place for a season similar to 2010. The 2010 team was Senior laden and this team is talent laden. The schedules are virtually identical. The only true glaring deficiency on this team is the depth at LB. And just as I said before 2010 it all will depend on the play of the QB. KF is dnage sure no Cam but KF has a LOT more talent around him. The defense this year will be a complete 180. KF is better than what some of our own Auburn family even realize. The kid only threw like 12 passes last year and people judge him off of that. KF never got the chance to even try and find a rythym. If KF is consistent, plays smart and just makes a play every now and then....... WATCH OUT! Auburn will surprise some folks this year!
I expect a title and I am not satisfied with a 9-3 or 10-2 season.... whats the point if thats all you want. This program will really start becoming a powerhouse when ALL of the Auburn family stops accepting mediocrity and demands Championships.
