With the game against Depaul coming up Friday, I thought is interesting to see how we compare with Indiana. The Indiana coach, Tom Crean who has his team at #1. But wait we would have fired him since he was 28-66 and 8-46 in conference play for his first three years and after all it is easier to recruit than at Auburn. Starting his forth year, he has gone 33-9.
Barbee is 28-40 and 9-23 in conference play. There is no guarantee that things will be turned around but it is amazing that Indiana has more patience than we do at Auburn.

What the heck? Did I miss the firing of Barbee?
I don't think Barbee will be fired after his 3rd season. He will have another year to get things going. However, losing to teams like Rhode Island makes one wonder. Also, Crean went 27 and 9 in his fourth year. He is starting his 5th season at IU and they are currently 7-0.

Dyin' ain't much of a living, boy - you know who
I guarantee you if Crean hadn't turned it around in his third year he would be gone. Coach Barbee will have this year and more than likely next year but if we continue to only win 3 - 5 SEC games he will and should be gone after 4 years. How long does it take and how many times do we have to start over. As I've said before in basketball our excuse seems to be " we are forever young " but that doesn't seem to bother Kentucky and hell we ain't even competitive. I really like Coach Barbee and I hope he gets it turned around, we shall see - WDE
ON TO VICTORY - STRIKE UP THE BAND
The big difference is Crean recruited well. Barbie is not - and that is putting it lightly. It took him two years to sign a simple contract. Mr. Slow. Might make the tourney in Year 9
