Have you heard any chatter, either from those in power or has anyone in the media posed the million dollar question to them about this very-obvious stumbling block in basketball?
I agree w/you in your previous post, that regardless of what shoes we wear, we should be a lot better than last place. That said, could Barbee turn the corner sooner if we swapped to Nike? Personally, I still wouldn't bet on us competing for conference titles anytime soon under him, regardless of the shoe contract.
Here's another tough question, if we don't swap to Nike, can we really expect to lure a championship caliber coach in the first place? If we do, aren't we fooling ourselves in thinking that we'll be better than a middle of the road team?
I don't remotely claim to have good answers, aside from swapping shoes & the coach...but the numbers do not lie...only "2" of "64" in the NCAA Tourney last season wore Under Armour! That's something that our administration needs to take seriously! If not, we may as well save some serious $$ & hire a $2-300k/year guy that isn't expected to win the conference, much less anything more.
I'd prefer that we change course altogether & hire a new coach & a new shoe company! Just my opinion, which ain't worth much!

Oh no he didn't
First off, and I am sure you know this, but if you get a uniform deal.....it's the same manufacturer for all sports. They don't come in and just get basketball or football. They get all sports. The only way around that is to not be a school sponsored sport.
So now we are so bad that it must be the clothes we wear or shoes we tie up?? Come on guys. It's a lot easier than that. Shoes don't make one a better basketball player. But coaching can sure help. Uniforms looking good does not make you better...but coaching does.
Does anyone here question the fact that Coach K could win with a team wearing dolphin outfits???
Stop looking so hard for excuses and look to the real problem.
If you cant be honest....whats the point of being anything?
Sad that poor coaching and recruiting is now tied to uniform contracts. We were hometown Russell for years and won lots of championships. And... that was before Russell was bought out by Bershere Hathaway.

I see your LA Gear and raise you a Wilson!
Better yet, I'll double raise you a Jordache.
Ppl aching for dem contracts with these on.
I have a dumb question. How come it seems to be just "Under Armor" schools that can't compete? Here's a list of top 25 basketball teams that wear Adidas:
2. Indiana (Adidas)
4. Kansas (Adidas)
7. Michigan (Adidas)
8. Louisville (Adidas)
22. Wisconsin (Adidas)
23. UCLA (Adidas)
23. Saint Mary's (Adidas)
24. Notre Dame (Adidas)
I admit that I have no idea how AAU works. Why do Adidas teams also have an advantage?
Don't worry, Under Armor is coming out with a new shoe.
They make great Bball stuff and always have.
Asahi? or Champion?
not true because baylor football is nike and baylor basketball is addidas
