Here are five reasons why Malzahn looks like the right hire from a national recruiting perspective.

Nice post Barton! War Eagle!
Thanks, Barton. Good read. And please keep this kind of stuff coming for the people that are moaning over the hire because they would have moaned either way just to complain about something.

I was going to put a witty joke here, but I forgot bama fans still use picture books. So I thought I'd expedite the process for you...

You're talking dirty to me Barton.
Huddles are for rookies.
Someone who is that specific and OCD about his offense can't possibly let the team be lax in its discipline. Those things just don't go together. Its all going to come down to attitude.
Attitude is Everything
Great read. Thanks for the post.

Over? Did you say over? It's not over until we say it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell NO!!!
#5 is a real key. The two best color guys in the business are Blackledge and Danielson, both of them keep pointing out the weakness of Saban's 3-4 defense is a dual threat QB. The only reason ND is given any chance is they have a dual threat QB. Just over a month ago Saban himself came out in favor of rule changes to slow down the HUNH. It's a situation defense that calls for substituting according to down and distance. And both Danielson and Blackledge agree, it doesn't account for the QB running the ball in passing situations. Go back and watch Johnny Football weaving through that defense on 3rd and 5 plays. He ate their butts up. You don't have to have a Cam Newton, just a smart athletic QB that sees the gaps and exploits them.
Good article. Makes sense. Thanks.
Great take on why the GusBus is a great hire. Thanks Barton!
