How many dang scholarships does Georgia have?
Ga. was saying yesterday his grades were not good enough to get into GA,
Not exactly confident he will stay the course academically at UGA over the long run....
Having Montravius Adams, another DT, select auburn earlier may have played into his decision. He also may have been looking at Whitaker, who will be difficult to unseat as one of the starters.
It's a new day in Auburn football!
I'm sorry, but why would he be tough to unseat? He's been a bit lackluster in terms of production so far. I'm not saying anything bad about the kid's character. I'm simply stating that the statistics aren't glowing for him throughout his stint at Auburn. Why would he be tough to unseat? I'm hoping he gets put to the second rotation anyway. I think that would speak well for Auburn's interior of the defensive line coming into the 2013 season.
Whitaker sucked last year, hell the entire defensive line was horrible. every spot on defense is open for competition this year.
I can't help but wonder if it was a lack of talent, or a lack of coaching for the entire DL last year. Some of the guys were big recruits coming in, and they just don't give away those credits. I often wandered last year if the players really believed in the system last year, or did they get down early and give up. This coaching staff came in with some really impressive credentials as not only good recruiters, but good coaches who seem to believe in hard work and will demand it on the field. If I'm not mistaken, they will bring accountability to these young men. I believe that will do allot of good for morale and help these young guys believe in themselves allot more in the long run. I for one think this is crucial to a winning team. That's what the 2010 class had. They believed in themselves more and more after every close win. And they all believed in Cam. I still do.
And I believe in Auburn and what they stand for.

regardless, the results on the field were piss poor. i heard a stat on Sportscall that said that the interior linemen for AU had like 3 sacks in 2 years....that's just horrible
Not arguring the stats. They speak for themselves and are what they are. Just the possibilty that it's not the players ability being reason for the stats. You singled out Whitaker first, and then the entire defensive line. I just can't buy that every player on that defensive line forgot how to play defense. I can believe that miscommunication and lack of training played a major part. Football is a team sport. If just a few on the team don't know their jobs, it's going to be caotic. And that's exactly the way it looked last year to me. The plays have to be a reflex. Stop to think and your behind from the start. What i saw was too many players standing around thinking instead of reacting. That told me the disipline was not there with that the coaching staff. I truly believe Gus is a perfectionist by my definition of the term. He will make sure that the players understand what they are suppose to do in every situation. The ones who get it and do it right way more often, wil get the starting postion. Gus is smart enough to know that a gelled disiplined "team" is more of a theat than a bunch of elite players who aren't.
I still believe in Auburn and love it! War Eagle!
one thing is for sure, we are sure as hell going to find out come spring and fall practice who can play and who can't.
Now that's something we can agree on.
Let's both hope for a renewed vigor and outlook for these guys.
I too believe in Auburn, and I'm not sure exactly what happened last year. It's as if many of our players had never played before. I think I will go along with CGM, that we need to forget about last year and move forward. In 2010, everyone was singing the praises of Whitaker. And I agree with the negative comments about Whitaker in here on his 2011 play; however I only hope that he will return to his 2010 form.
I believe we have the talent to move forward and compete this coming year. However to do this, we do need a QB to step up badly.
