to decommits! It appears the former coaches were selling something other than the school. Maybe they were selling their personality and nothing else. Glad those coaches are gone. Sorry about the loss of commits for the future but one lousy recruiting class does not spoil the entire football team. We will preserver this year and emerge better than ever in the following recruiting classes. We will win our share of games next year despite this problem.
Winning is the best recruiter !
Good friends are hard to find. Enjoy every moment you have with them.
Not over yet, BTW we have some outstanding offensive talent coming in and there is still time to get a very good defensive class also, be patient it will work out. RF could come back and turn this whole defensive class around and help keep Lawson and liner - WDE

They called down the the thunder and now they got it. Tell them hell's coming! You hear?! Hell's coming with me!
Way too early for the freak out.
Give it a rest. All of you that are complaining about these guys not committing to Auburn don't know crap about the recruiting process. These guys build relationships with the coaches, not The Toomer's Trees. Of course the sell them on coming to Auburn to play for them. You are looking at it from a selfish fan's point of view, not the recruit's point of view.
I was going to put a witty joke here, but I forgot bama fans still use picture books. So I thought I'd expedite the process for you...
It's these coaches that call them every week during the recruiting process. When the coach is no longer there this can't help but make a difference.
Alabama delenda est.
To get where we needed to be as far as total SEC players we needed one more recruiting class. If it doesn't happen that puts us back another year. But it will probably keep Jay Jacobs employed while we rebuild for the next several years. Which he deserves, of course, after our football program ran right down the ground under his watch.
So 3 straight top ten classes gets you 0 for the SEC but that magical 4th class makes it all happen?
Its not where we start its where we finish. The new staff will lose some sure but they will also gain some. Every highly rated recruit doesn't always pan out. i feel confident that better coaching is a greater equalizer than just amassing a collection of more "talented" but lesser developed players.
Why are people even worried about this.

You should prepare yourself to live with the consequences of your decisions, whatever they may be.
I think one of the most aspects of this isn't that they lost the person who was recruiting them, it is that they lost the whole coaching staff. There's no one left that they know and would have met and interacted with. If you look at this realistically, a lot of these these decommits should have been expected. Question - would you want the old coaching staff back with the recruiting class still in place or would you want to start fresh, keeping as many recruits as we can but knowing we'll lose our share - in This class? It's not like we recruited only mid-level talent in the last several recruiting classes - it's that they were never really developed and coached up to take full advantage of their talent and skills. Granted, we have a real need for LBs in this class but whether they come or not, we still have players on the team that play that position and I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do with some real coaching. Look at it this way - with what we know will be significant improvement on offense with the current players and the ones we're bringing in in this class, we may have to outscore our opponents to win. With Gus and Lashlee at the helm, I'm confident we can do that.
