2 Year-olds or Neanderthals?

  • I need some help. This social experiment we call message boards is intriguing me. It's never been more interesting than now, how our thirst for information (as if our lives depended on it) has reduced us to some form of our past. I never was much into psychology, psychiatry or origin of the species for that matter, so maybe that's why I’m struggling to comprehend human behavior in light of this medium. I don’t know if we, as a collection of humans, are behaving as 2 year-olds or Neanderthals. Maybe we’re 2 year-old Neanderthals. I don't know. Much like babies we are easily irritated and prone to fits of tears and shouting when someone takes our happiness away (recruit flip). Much like Neanderthals, we buffet our enemies with grunting verbal sticks and stones (is BVG a bad recruiter?) and go to great pains and struggle to form a message board civilization (...for all you newbies...). On the one hand, we turn on the tears when someone makes us sad. We call them mean names and even banish some from our view of the world. We tell them we will never, ever, ever again be their BFF. On the other hand, we try desperately to create rules for how we should conduct ourselves. Some in our society have emerged as leaders, admired by loyal subjects, who possess power of insider contacts. Surely they must be the most fit and strong among us. We battle each other hoping natural selection will extinguish our adversaries if the grunts and clubs fall short. I need a PhD or an MD to help me figure this out, so feel free to enlighten me – I could use it. Either way, it’s pretty entertaining at times and pretty annoying at others. Kind of like a Family. I may never figure this out but one thing I know: whatever we are, while we may or may not mature (or evolve), one thing is for certain - we will always be Auburn Tigers. War Eagle!

Umm, so your choice is either to be a 2 yr old of a Neanderthal? and regardless of that choice you will still be an Auburn Tiger?

    Welcome to the boards.
