Glad to see most are waiting before making a call on leaving. As for Irvin-Sills, I agree with what he said about Rivals. I thought I saw earlier that Artis-Payne was looking elsewhere. Nice to see that BM is on top of the situation.
Hey JaQuay. We stuck with you TWICE my friend. Auburn will be here regardless of your decision. Honestly, just your decommitment (regardless of leaving options open) tells me you are not what Auburn needs at this difficult times. We need Auburn Men. We don't need Chizik Men, Trooper/Luper Men, or WoMen.
See ya Wo!
Quote from Muscle Shoals coach Scott Basden: “We haven’t discussed it and aren’t going to discuss it until after the football season. After that, we’ll sit down and make the best decision for his future.”
I understand that these HS Coaches play an integral part in helping to mentor these young men, but it bugs me that he says, "We'll sit down and make a decision!" Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't like the wording of that....
And there you have it.....

At this moment this is really the best case scenario i could imagine. These kids could have all started dropping like dominos but at least most are giving us a chance to earn their favor again. Also can't blame guys for taking visits at this point. Its just part of it.
Very unusual that a H.S. coach would openly admit that he will be part of the decision or influence on where one of his players goes . That is normally the decision of the player and his family . Any background on Scott Basden and where he may lean ?
I don't think there are any big surprises here. I'm sure we'd all love to see the majority of these guys retained, but we should expect to lose a few. Once the new HC and his staff are hired, then this discussion will be totally different.
For everyone that thinks that Petrino would be the best decision we would have for the head coaching job might need to think about the negative effect it would have not just on these recruits but all recruits. I know that recruiting is not our top priority right now but I don't really think that any of these young kids parent's would want them being mentored by someone like Petrino. We have plenty of other great candidates other than Petrino. I think that most of these guys would stay but as soon as the new HC is hired first he needs to restore discipline in the locker room and then hit the recruits up and let them know that we will either have discipline on our team and whomever wants to start next year is going to work their ass off to do so.
