Well it's better than I anticipated. I think it's huge that Trooper/Luper are still working. That makes me feel better about the "NCAA issues" too Surely if they had done something so terrible then Auburn wouldn't let them still be out representing us. I would be most shocked on losing Foster

The problem is that the word "commit" doesn't seem to have much meaing now-a-days. One recruit says that he is committed to Auburn but two other schools lead his recruitment? They seem to want to stay committed only to "keep their spot open".

Bottom line is that all of these kids deserve to know who the new coach and new staff will be. We have time before signing day. I won't think badly of them if they decide to go in another direction but hope they will all give the new coach/staff a shot.

The contact period started Sunday and no Auburn coaches have gone out for in-home visits that I'm aware of. Auburn is allotted 54 official visits and won't come close to reaching that number.

But if any coach had gone out, it would count as one of Auburn's visits. I think a total of six is allowed during contact period including one from head coach.

I think it is a positive because I thought I saw earlier that Cameron Artis-Payne had decommited b/c he was worried about us getting a coach in time for him to graduate and enroll early. Does that mean a HC could be named soon enough for him to enroll?

I stand corrected. The assistants still helping out will be going on the road and seeing these commits and recruits face-to-face. Coaches are allowed to visit recruits once a week during the contact period so it won't really affect the new staff.

i find it interesting that the 2 coaches thought to be in trouble and pulled off the road are reported to be the 2 that are still contacting prospects.

That may be a really good sign for us or it could mean they are cultivating relationships for the next place they go.
