If you felt different on January 11th than you did on January 10th then perhaps you were somebody's little brother. I know this - I didn't. I also know this - Shug Jordan was never anybody's little brother. You obviously missed that part of Auburn history but men like Shug, my uncle, and my grandfather were never in any way anybody's little brother. And they were all around long before Pat Dye got a job at Auburn. Those men were always Auburn. Never a bammer, never a dawg, and never anything little.
I understand you were trying to do a great commentary on Auburn football. That's great. To imply even by accident that Shug was a little brother to anyone on or off the field is a lapse in Auburn raising somewhere along the way. I was raised in the generation just ahead of you and perhaps we were fortunate to be the last to truly understand the true history of Auburn's past and how proud we were of it.

The commentary, or actually a true journalistic story, is a response to the nations perception of auburn being a "little brother". Ron is not saying they were a "little brother" and now aren't, he's simply saying based on the numbers, Auburn has proven to be a powerhouse. It sounds to me that Ron does understand the history of Auburn. That's what's unique about Auburn.......the history is passed from generation to generation and isn't segmented like most universities.
